Downward Spiral Ham - My Fitness Hiatus

Yes, it has been this way since Thanksgiving. Instead of going on my usual Tuesday / Thursday runs. I find myself working on cooking, entertaining guests and recuperating from the overstimulation rather than pursuing my health / fitness goals.

The meme captures the current state of affairs:

Recently, I got a new fitness watch, a Samsung Galaxy Watch7 44mm, and it constantly tells me just how much my sleep situation sucks. It is interesting as my knowledge of this seems to contribute to just how tired I feel. When I was unaware, perhaps I would just truck along but it is true our bodies can only take so much abuse. As a result, I have been on a bit of a hiatus which I intend to end soon.

The other contributing factor to this decline is daylight savings time shift and it becoming dark outside at about 6 pm now. This does not give me a lot of time to run in the daylight for safety reasons. The end result is I may end up on a boring treadmill. ::yawn::

Anyways, it's been a minute since I posted. It looks like we will need a new theme for future runs as the No Holds Barred (NHB) show has concluded. Perhaps, I will shoot for how many miles I can complete before I turn 40 next year. The clock is ticking! ⏰️

Thanks for stopping by! ✌️

Ever try 15min naps in the back seat of the car, while on break at work? 😇 I’m not tall, I fit. It’s refreshing, even if I don’t deep sleep.

Lol for sure. I remember trying to sleep in a little 4 banger Ford Ranger I had way back when. Not the most comfortable nap.

Reading your comment made my ribs hurt. Isn’t there an ebrake handle in the middle ?

When the treadmill gets boring, at least you’re running toward 40 like a champ.

Fr. Funny thing is I turned the treadmill towards a TV playing some 360° videos I created running trails and it almost feels like I am going somewhere. I just need a fan so I can feel the wind. Lol!

Haha, that's a genius idea. It definitely makes it feel like an adventure. A fan would complete the experience—nothing like feeling the wind in your hair while you run.
