Nissan X-Trail MY23

avatar

You might recall a few years ago I mentioned how I was purchasing a Kia Sorrento, well the wait has been almost three years and I still haven't received my car due to supply chain barriers, manufacturing delays due to COVID and a broad range of issues.

My wife has also been quite upset as we now have two kids and our car is too small to fit the whole family into. So the other week I went to car dealership after car dealership to try and find someone who had a car handy that I could purchase.

I finally found a dealership Nissan who had a Nissan X-Trail which someone else had purchased and pulled out of due to rising interest rates. Although the rising interest rates are a concerning matter I have finally locked in both of my loans so I have some security over the coming years.

I am also taking out a novated lease through my employer for the car so a large chunk is pre tax and the reason I needed to do this is this years tax bill absolutely hurt me, a lot! So I need to bring my tax down which is a hard decision as this purchase will be a slight financial adjustment on top of all my other issues I have had this year.

We got lucky with the car as it is a Nissan X-Trail Ti so just a few notches above the base model and had a few additional extras like rims, sun roof, climate control and larger HUD. Which I am not sure having a larger screen is all that better as it seems to be quite bright when driving at night.

The interior is nice and clean for now with some really nice modern touches my car is a 2010 model and my wifes i30 is 2015 so car technology has advanced significantly since then which also includes Sat Nav, auto pilot or what Nissan calls Pro Pilot which supports you when driving on cruise control.

Although the best feature the kids like is the panoramic Sun Roof and I have to admit it is pretty awesome thing to have in a car and I have always wanted one. Although now that I do and we drove with it fully open the sun gets quite hot on your head so I don't think I will be making it a regular feature of our car drives.

Plenty of room in the back which is what we were after to be able to fit two car seats and still bring mum in law along with us which is something we haven't been able to do.

There is plenty of boot space too so it enables me to head down to Bunnings and pick up my DIY jobs, take the dog out for a run with the whole family or just go shopping and not run out of space which is fantastic!

The Nissan X-Trail comes with some pretty awesome features like being a 4x4 nothing too major but it will be a good addition to our family on our state wide runs to visit loved ones in regional Vic or even just going on Holiday. It does come with 19 inch rims also which are banging!

The Engine Consists of:

Fuel type Petrol
Number of Cylinders 4
Torque, Nm @ rpm (front / rear) 244 @ 3,600
Drive Train Intelligent 4x4
Power, kW @ rpm (front / rear) 135 @ 6,000
Gear Box Type CVT

The exterior is awesome too with

Body colour door handles

Silver roof rails

Chrome side moulding

Silver lower front and rear lower fascia

LED headlights

LED tail lights

LED daytime running lights

LED fog lights

LED high mounted stop light

LED turn signal in door mirrors

Privacy glass (second row & rear windows)

Tilt & slide electric sunroof with panoramic glass roof

So yes while this might be a bit of a financial hit it was a necessary purchase.

What are your thoughts on the new Nissan X-Trail?

Steering wheel on the wrong side of the car :).

Looks nice, really. I love the color, that one being one of my favorite.

Enjoy it and drive safe!

One of the biggest obstacles we may face is inflation and high cost of goods.
Really in the picture it looks great maybe a vehicle for many a dream 😴.

As they say in my country it is "a luxury". Really, as you describe it, I imagined myself riding it 🤭, but I'm really happy for you and your family. Enjoy it very much.
It was worth the 3 year wait to get it.
Regards 🤗.

Hi @melbourneswest good that after so long you could get a vehicle, when the family grows is important comfort, also good that despite your financial problems you have achieved the credit for the purchase.

Nissan is an incredible brand, in my case I sold parts of this brand for a few years and I have no doubt of its quality. How do you feel about driving with such a big sun roof? and how do you feel about the brightness of the screen when driving?

The sunroof is really fun and really makes inside the car alot brighter. We went looking for Christmas lights lastnight and the view of the stars was really good.

The rear view mirror also turns into a camera as it projects what's behind you I found that to be a great addition.

Notated Lease through work makes it alot easier and I got it over the longest period on offer to make it achievable and part payment comes from pre tax dollars so it is really well worth it to help lower my annual income.

Excellent, look like you are enjoying the driving experience, I imagine the family is too. Good you have that option at work to make it easier to cover the payment Quotas
