[ESP/ENG] Tasting delicious lunches at Candilejas

Hola a todos, espero que su semana haya ido de maravilla. Hoy paso por aquí para contarles de un nuevo restaurante al que tuve la oportunidad de visitar. Se llama Candilejas y tiene varias sedes aquí en Medellín. La sede que yo visité fue la de Sabaneta porque es la que me queda cerca y la verdad es que debo decirles que si quieren comer buena comida colombiana este es el lugar perfecto para hacerlo. Yo le doy un 10/10 porque la verdad me sorprendieron.

Hello everyone, I hope your week has been going great. Today I'm stopping by to tell you about a new restaurant I had the opportunity to visit. It is called Candilejas and it has several locations here in Medellín. The one I visited was in Sabaneta because it is the one that is close to me and the truth is that I must tell you that if you want to eat good Colombian food this is the perfect place to do it. I give it a 10/10 because I was really surprised.

El local tiene mesas tanto afuera del local como adentro lo cual es una maravilla. La decoración es bastante linda y es un local amplio. Apenas llegamos observamos un estante lleno de panes, rosquillas y pastelitos. Todo se veía bastante delicioso. Sin embargo, nosotros íbamos por almuerzos, para ser más claros unas sopas, así que tomamos una mesa dentro para poder mostrarles toda la decoración del sitio y la barra de bebidas.

The place has tables both outside and inside which is a marvel. The decoration is quite nice and the place is spacious. As soon as we arrived we noticed a shelf full of breads, donuts and pastries. Everything looked quite delicious. However, we were going for lunch, to be more clear some soups, so we took a table inside so we could show them all the decoration of the place and the drinks bar.

Nosotros en primera instancia pensamos que solo podíamos ver el menú por código QR. Sin embargo, al sentarnos, una chica amablemente nos atendió y nos trajo el menú a la mesa. Sinceramente desde que llegamos todo fue 10/10. Hasta nos dieron una entrada cortesía de la casa y ni les cuento de la cantidad de comida que sirven y lo delicioso que es porque se van a sorprender. De verdad Candilejas será uno de mis favoritos cuando quiero comer como en casa.

At first we thought we could only see the menu by QR code. However, when we sat down, a girl kindly served us and brought the menu to our table. Honestly, from the moment we arrived everything was 10/10. They even gave us a complimentary appetizer and I can't even tell you about the amount of food they serve and how delicious it is because you will be surprised. Truly Candilejas will be one of my favorites when I want to eat at home.

Yo ordené una sancocho de res y José medio frijoles con chicharrón. Debo contarles que unos amigos habían venido antes y nos habían contado que en este local sirven una gran cantidad de comida y quedas satisfechos lo cual es cierto. Si ven, el sancochó viene con full verduras y un plato aparte con sobrebarriga, arroz y aguacate. Los medios frijoles de José venían con arroz, aguacate y chicharrón y de tomar ordenamos agua de panela con limón.

I ordered a beef sancocho and Jose half beans with chicharron. I should tell you that some friends had come here before and had told us that this place serves a lot of food and you are satisfied, which is true. If you see, the sancochó comes with full vegetables and a separate dish with overbarriga, rice and avocado. Jose's half beans came with rice, avocado and chicharron and for drinks we ordered panela water with lemon

La verdad que quedamos bastante llenos y ni hablar de las entradas. Eran más o menos dos arepas con Ajiaco. El ajiaco es algo muy popular aquí y es como tomate con cebolla. La verdad todo fue muy bueno aquí y la atención fue muy buena. Otra cosa buena de este local es que ellos no te preguntan si deseas incluir el servicio y de hecho no lo incluyen ya que esto es común en Colombia en todos los restaurantes.

The truth is that we were quite full and not to mention the entrees. They were more or less two arepas with Ajiaco. Ajiaco is something very popular here and it is like tomatoes with onions. Everything was really good here and the service was very good. Another good thing about this place is that they don't ask you if you want to include the service and in fact they don't include it as this is common in Colombia in all restaurants.

Por todos estos platos y las dos bebidas pagamos 75 mil pesos colombianos o lo que es aproximadamente unos 18,75 USD. La verdad quedamos bastante llenos y casi que no nos comíamos todo porque era mucho. Vale la pena comer aquí y pagar lo que vale porque realmente es totalmente delicioso y te lo sirven calientito. For all these dishes and the two drinks we paid 75 thousand Colombian pesos or approximately 18.75 USD. The truth is that we were quite full and we almost didn't eat it all because it was so much. It is worth eating here and paying what it is worth because it is really delicious and they serve it hot. That was all for today, I hope you liked it. See you in a future post. Best regards
