The Sea Journey to Nusa Lembongan Island

One of my weakness is that I am not good of sea journey. I really don't enjoyed swayed by waves. And this voyage to Nusa Lembongan, long before it happened, I already thought much about it. It's a 1 hour 45 minutes voyage from Benoa Harbour, Bali to Nusa Lembongan Island.

When I arrived at Benoa harbor that morning, I felt sea sick already. This must be psychological things. All my clients boarded the catamaran one by one. I thought I was going to be the last one to board the ship to shorten my time on the boat. I laughed at myself.

"There is an antisickness pills available at the lobby." said one of the staff of Bali Hai, the cruise ship operator. I took the pill and drank a glass of water. This would stop me from vomiting.

But there was one side effect that I did not realize that affected me.

As the catamaran departed from the harbor, I decided to walk around the small ship. I walked and walked around the boat, thinking that I could trick my brain that it will think all the movement of the ship is because I was moving.

There was a coffee and tea available at the back of the ship. This seemed to be a great comfort for me. I got there quickly. Coffee would be a great help that would help me boosting my energy.

There were about 50 people including the captain, crew, and musician who was singing "welcome to my paradise" when I sipped my coffee.

I sat down on long chair at the back of the ship while sipping my coffee. There were some cakes on table near the coffee. I took some of them. At the same time, t he music was getting more and more vague at the background. The sound of the sea was getting further and further away.

I felt asleep.

That anti sickness pill did it job really well.

The island of Nusa Lembongan was finally came to sight. I heard vaguely the captain announced that we have arrived. I could see the land, the white beach, the blue water and building that looked like huts by the beach. That's where we were heading.

The catamaran could not dock by the beach, that we were picked up by smaller boats to get to the island.

I was dizzy. Thank God, I did not humiliate myself on the catamaran. Some people vomited on the catamaran, but not me.

I stepped on beach toward a beach club belong to Bali Hai. There were swimming pools, volley ball court, rooms to stay, and a restaurant in the club.

This was our catamaran for the day. We had to take small boats to the beach as it couldnot get closer to the beach.

The next program was snorkeling and glass bottom boat ride on the beach near by the island. And as you guess, I prefer to stay on the land and relaxing by the beach. I just made sure everything run smoothly for all my clients.

Then everybody was gone to enjoy their activities. And when my sanity returned everything looked clear to me. The beach looked so blue, the sand was so white, and the sky so dark because of the rainy season. It seemed it was easy to enjoy this beautiful view, even a dog on the beach seemed amused to be in the beach.

When the time hit 12.30, the restaurant called us for lunch. People were back from snorkeling and they must be hungry too. This was what I had been waiting for. The voyage has drained my energy that I felt a bit hungry.

I went to the restaurant and saw some chefs who were quite busy. I did not disturb them since they were busy grilling some meat.

The lunch was good. It's grilled fishh, pork, chidken, salad, pudding, soup. I had no complain.

I sat on chairs facing the sea while having my lunch. Looking at the sea, I was thinking, I hope the sea would be calm when we get back at the end of the day.

I really enjoyed seeing the color of the water.

Well, at the end of the day, I thought, despite of my seasickness, this was a wonderful day.
