Festive - something a little different

Another day without many steps, I was planning to go to work last night, but I started getting a bad throat last night and got hardly any sleep and had hardly any voice this morning and was coughing and wheezing away at the time I should have caught the train, plus it was snowing and sub-freezing point temp, so I decided to join the meetings I had via Video Conference, not that I added much to the meetings as if I tried to talk I started coughing so I was just listening in for the most part, and after the meetings, I took it easy for most of the day, hoping I will be feeling better tomorrow and able to go into work, not sure if that's going to work out as all the coughing has me feeling a bit chesty at the moment but will remain positive and see how I feel inthe morning.
I didn't do many steps at all today, so I was wondering what to share tonight and decided to share a few more festive shots but a little different from the recent festive decoration shots.

Starting with this first shot, I do love these big ornaments on 6th Ave not far from Radio City Music hall, and they look cool in red, but I always think they would look so cool if one year they went with a different color, so I decided to do that myself in edit, how about if they were blue

OK I conceed most likely if they were this color they would not be so popular vut i like them this color, but if you missed me showing them in the actual color here is a normal edited shot of them from a different perspective,

I will do another post with more shots of these at some stage, but now let me get back to my a little bit different images which I felt like sharing tonight, with festive tree lights the common sense or most common thing to do it color and a full shot of the tree, well I like to be different so how about just one light and in B&W

other than the first two shots, these remaining shots are taken on the green here in Milford, and I was looking to get some different shots there as well one day, and decided to look down the green framed partially by one of the trees

@tattoodjay I like the Christmas balls in blue but the red ones are pretty, too. Try gargling with hot as you can stand water with salt. I hope you feel better soon.

Stunning holiday photography and cool edits, Jay!

Good idea to stay on top of things with Christmas holidays approaching quickly! Hot tea with honey will soothe the throat and ease the coughing...I don't know if you drink anymore but a shot of whiskey could be added to that tea.☕ Take vitamin B12 -- 2 1000 mcg daily till symptoms improve then once daily. Try to catch some extra winks tonight too!🛌💤

With being on blood thinners I have given up alcohol and we have none inthe house but tea with honey my Mum used to always swear but i may try that right now even though I hate hot drinks it may help indeed and yes sleep of course I will crash early tonight and try to sleep in

thanks these were fun edits to do I thought i needed to mix it up a little

I somehow love the last phot... the lights around the tree. I don't know if my iPhone can do that, like to keep out of focus and blur the background behind a subject that I want to focus on. Well... it is Christmas, and I am still figuring out if I should get me a newer phone or a camera, LOL. But as you know... I am a stacker, and I really just want to save all my money on precious metals. I don't even go to coffee shops just for coffee unless it is to socialize. Oh well... I just have to make do with what I have.

Thanks and you may be able to do it to a degree on your phone depending on how far the things in the background are, but you doing great with your phone photos anyway :)

And Understandable its a challenge sometimes setting our priorities, i have the same challenge, but inthat regard and to answer your question, my Christmas wish list included the lens I used for these shots and I got it early, :)

Ohh yeah its driving me nuits I tried the mind over matter approach this morning and got up showered and dressed planning to head to work, but that didnt work I was worn out byt he time I was ready and coughing aweay so decided common sense was to stay home again

I think I like those big bulbs in red, too. From the angle you took the first picture it looks like a person sitting with a big butt! It made me need to look again. :)

Christmas lights are always so fun to photograph, with all their colours and arrangements. Thanks for sharing!

Shots on the green framed by trees gives a lovely feel on how crisp and clean the cold air is. Playing with colour always effective changing the view, hope you feel better soon, perhaps ginger root tea with honey will sooth your troubled throat and chest.

Thanks for the suggestion I am going to the Drs at 0:30 so will see what he says
I think I have to be more sensible for a couple of weeks and not going out when the temp is down near freezing i should have learnt by now

Ohh I am one who seldom listens as well and to be honest thats part of why I have this bug getting out for too many walks inthe cold, my chest just doesnt like that, but for now I will be sensible and get over this

The shots through the trees are pretty awesome. Sorry that you didn't get as many steps as you wanted. If you are fighting off something, it is probably best just to take it easy anyway. Good luck and be well!

thanks and its no problem not getting out previous years a battled through it and ended up in hospital so seeing a dr early was a good thing and I have plenty of shots for a few more posts :)
