Malaysia in Colours - Our Last Days Here
Hi!
I've decided to fill in this article with our last blasting and amazing experiences in Malaysia. So, if you have a little time, just prepare to jump in this boat with us (with me and Chrys).
Today we are in George Town, at Ome by Spacebar Coffee and I can say "Hello, Penang! It’s lovely to meet you and your designish hipster coffee shop culture"
Here is our favorite place here, the Spices Hotel with a charming overdose!
BUT before we got into this civil-corner of the world, we were way back into the wildness :) a trendy one, I might add.
So, let's go back a few days ago:
Here I am at Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi, meditating on the most gigantic jellyfish we’ve ever seen so far. Finally, Chrys managed to catch me in a moment when I wasn't looking for a toilet. :))
...and here's her, taming the wild fauna:
We still had some lazy days around and the sunsets were unique...plus, we wanted to find peaceful places and just relax:
Buuuhhh, we wanted to explore more. And you might already know what we love to do the most when we're visiting new places: discover the local dishes, plants, fruits, vegetables and....seafood and meat, sometimes. We were vegan for healthy reasons, now we are back to having some red meat, some fish from time to time. Anyway, here we are at Tanjung Puteri Langkawi (Friday night market in our village....ummmm.... the colors, the energy, the people, the scents & flavours, the golden light and, oh my god, the calories! ):
That walk got us exhausted. The market was full, it was so crowded but we enjoyed each moment.
The next day, we discovered somethign looking like small Japanesse gardens, very minimalistic, called the T Star Cottage. And I want you to see the simplicity and elegance and how neat everything seems to be, quiet, calm, in this architecture of...things:
So we said to ourselves WHY NOT STAY OVER THE NIGHT? Yes, we decided to spend the night at this Japanese inn and I can tell you it was so quiet that we could hear birds, crickets, frogs and so on. We loved it!
In the morning, we discovered the Smiling Buffalo Coffee spot and I told Chrys that I could just stay here all day. I'd probably would if she didn't insisted that we use the time that we still have in this journey to have more fun.
We went to the beach, had some swimming, I had my share of free deep diving and at evening we joined other visitors at this resto beach bar with an exquisite view, the Hidden Langkawi :), waiting for the sun to set:
In the morning, Chrys wanted to have some banana pancakes so we went back to the Bufallo coffee shop where they serve those:
You can see how happy she was after her breakfast:
I'm just going to add some more fresh air, water, sun, bird-singing-pics from these last 4 days:
There she goes again, getting me while I search for the restroom:
the view while I was looking for the toilet:
These are just a few pics we took in that afternoon by the river watching wildlife, enjoying Malay simple cooking at its best and photographing charm-packed colorful traditional boats.
So, yesterday, we travelled to Penang. And, as I was taking a photo of Chrys, I was thinking:
"Au revoir, Langkawi, mais pas adieu! …with your quiet charming villages in the north, laid back warungs, colorful traditional boats, many small quirkily-shaped islands dotted over the Andaman sea all the way to southern Thailand, ubiquitous curious monkeys springing from overgrown lush green forests, impressive steep cable car, night markets, amazing sunsets and pretty cool beaches, warm curious people and so much more that I wish to discover some other time."
Thanks so much for being with us. We have more photos, more artsy, but we wanted you to see different parts and aspects of this story of our journey.
The main pin for this article is Langkawi for the relaxful moments it had offered us and we're grateful for that.
With respect,
Zpek
