Hi Hiverians, it's Sunday! 🥳

Sunday is one of the most beautiful days of the week, and I truly love it. It’s a special day when Christians come together to worship, fellowship, and uplift one another. There’s something refreshing, reviving, and joyful about gathering in unity—to pray, lay down our burdens, and receive grace and strength for the week ahead.

I arrived at church this morning around 8:40 AM, just five minutes before the service began at 8:45 AM. And guess what? It was Digital Sunday! Hmmm… wondering what that means? I did too! But as soon as I got to church, I found out.

I worship at God-Life Assembly, Jos, and as the service started, we entered into a time of prayer, followed by a beautiful session of worship, dancing, and singing praises to God. Then came the moment we had all been waiting for—the unveiling of Digital Sunday!

It was a unique and unfamiliar concept, and everyone was eager to see what it was all about.

Anyway, let me tell you what Digital Sunday is all about!

On this special Sunday, we embraced more digital experiences, bridging the gap between online and onsite worshippers. It was all about fostering togetherness, reminding us that even though we may be physically apart and unfamiliar with one another, we are still one big family in Christ. This service was particularly special because it reinforced the fact that those who worship online are just as valued and fully part of the church community.

It was an exciting service! We listened to a powerful sermon from our General Overseer, Pastor Chingtok Ishaku, who joined us live from the UK via an online platform. We also had an interactive online Bible quiz, where winners were awarded prizes. Both our online and onsite first-timers were warmly welcomed.

Additionally, we had brief but insightful teachings on relationships and marriage, accountability, and faith. Another highlight of the day was the official registration of all planted and confirmed members of the assembly through a digital link.

Hmmm… interesting, right? And guess what? A dress code was given to everyone for this special occasion—check me out rocking mine!

One important lesson I took away from today’s service:

It’s crucial to take the gospel to the digital space, reaching out to those who cannot attend onsite services and making them feel loved and included.

As Christians, we should go beyond the norm by introducing new, edifying experiences into our worship.
