Welcome Back To Campus ~ Wednesday Tour
For the past few days or resumption, I have been attending lectures at our town campus, today is the very first day I attended lectures at our main campus. Everywhere was bushy and very dry. It's so unlike how we left it 8 months ago when we embarked on the strike.
I overheard rumors which I am not sure how true it is, but students have been running into snakes because of how busy the school's main campus environment is. It's like no one visited there for the past 8 months.
It definitely wasn't how we left it and we are even afraid to take the bushy paths or the field because of our fear of snakes and other wild animals.
We had chemistry and mathematics lectures today, but I and my friends only got to attend chemistry since it was at the main campus while the mathematics venue was at the town campus, very far from the main campus. We couldn't have possibly made it to the class since it was immediately after the chemistry lecture. So we decided to sacrifice one and attend the other.
During the strike period, some parts of the school were being renovated and under construction. Now, most of the buildings that we left uncompleted have been completed and some projects have gone far, and are almost to be completed too. And this is to show that the school projects didn't pause or stop alongside the lectures or other school activities.
Initially, the main campus used to be a bubbling place, the same as the town campus. Students were always trekking, walking, or strolling up and down the school premises. Running to lecture halls and classes.
You would most likely always see a good number of students running helter-skelter to meet up with some school activities.
But after the strike, the whole place is similar to a desert region.
There are few or no students seen, nor the bustling activities that usually take place in the school.
I do understand the fact that a lot of students are still feeling very relaxed at home while some are yet to travel back from where they all went to spend the 8 months impromptu strike holiday.
So hopefully when everyone is fully back to school and getting ready and prepared for the soon upcoming examinations, wherever will be bubbling as before again.
My friend today in school
I took a snapshot of my friend while she was trekking down, towards the school gate after classes. See how dry, bushy and empty the whole environment is looking.
The photos below are snapshots I took of our town campus. Where we have most of our classes lately.
There are some specific things I like about the snapshots. Starting from the buildings and lecture halls to the big and tall trees and even to the dry and falling leaves. I liked the atmospheric weather too at the time I took these shots.
This is just a memory of when we had night studies. I just decided to leave this here to be reminded of this level of stress that is about to kick start for us again being that our examination is just around the corner. Students will be forced to burn their night candles again and tarry throughout the night just to cover different courses and their respective topics to be ready for the examinations.
Education in Nigeria is not a very pleasurable one but we just keep striving and doing our best so that we might secure a bright and better future for our children and unborn generation.
These empty seats will soon be occupied by students in the next couple of days.
These seats are waiting to be sat on. And hopefully, from next week, it wouldn't find itself empty anymore lol😀🤣😂
Students are returning to their campuses to warm up those seats lol.
Today's Wednesday walk was more like a little tour of my school campuses. It feels good to be back in the den. I pray that this den treats us nicely because we didn't return to campus fully prepared but we hope that the campus would treat us fairly.
This is me telling myself and my friends, welcome back to campus!

Wednesday
I just remember how most resumptions in my high school looked like. In just a space of one month a lot will change and the environment will look kind of strange to you talk more of 8months without visiting school.
It would really turn into a jungle if they didn't maintain it till resumption.
Congrats on your return to school, although the work load would be neck breaking😩 but it's better than staying home.
Education in this part of the world is quite frustrating and a lot of young people have lost vibes of going to school. Most being are just going for the records. I wonder which decade this education system will change.
High School resumption was fun and much better in my opinion o. I always looked forward to it, but not this one😀
And yes you are right about the load and stress that comes with this resumption after 8 months at home.
We don't know when the education sector will get better in this part of the world, but we can only keep trusting that someday it will.
Thanks for stopping by dear.
