#ThougfulDailyPost - Diderot and Epictetus
I must be 50 thoughtful memes ahead since I haven't Zeke Thoughtsed since April! @Wesphilbin waves the flag for us and runs @thoughtfulposts as the curation account that rewards thoughtful posts. Please consider delegating if you are the thoughtful type and want to encourage people to share their positivity.
I present a couple thoughtful posts that caught my attention, made me think a little, and motivated me to share with the world for #thoughtfuldailypost. Plus a little bonus music to match each.
When you are a dude who wrote encyclopedias in 1751 and your quote is making it to me over 2 and a half centuries later, I am all ears. Denis Diderot is that dude so check it out.
I try and sort flattery from compliments in conversation and avoid the former unless I find someone who just wants to be flattered. I am not great at receiving compliments and can smell flattery from a mile away or at least I like to tell myself that. Flattering lies do seem to be popular on the menu in certain circles and I find some people decreasingly resistant to receiving truths not sweetened by flattery.
Enough I. How about we refuse flattery like dessert and opt for the bitter medicine of truth.
How is it possible this quote is as relevant and applicable after all this time?
This bitter sweet song was so popular in the day it was overplayed but hopefully you haven't heard it in a while or maybe ever? Nah not possible.
Bitter Truth
If you thought the last quote source was old, how about EH-pick-TEE-təss Epictetus who was born way back in 50 AD? A philosopher who "argues that we should accept whatever happens calmly and dispassionately. However, individuals are responsible for their own actions, which they can examine and control through rigorous self-discipline." I could stop right there
Happiness, I like to believe, is primarily driven by decision. There is quite a bit more to it than that and I think Mr. Epic might have a large part of it nailed. I can't remember the first time I came to the conclusion that I am too lazy to worry too much about things that I can't control or influence. Leave it to a guy who lived a philosophical lifestyle 2000 years ago to put it so much more eloquently.
How about we don't pay too much mind to that which is beyond our power or will?
Here is some more blatant Canadiana as we all are in Pursuit of Happiness.
Considering our problems, happiness and how we are spending our lives can only lead to positive changes. If being thoughtful is up your alley, you have the option to delegate to @thoughfulposts to increase the rewards for positivity.

Because we like to be flattered by any way :)
Life is bittersweet but all of us don’t ever want to experience the bitter part
We always want it to be sweet which isn’t really possible
Truth always. I cannot grow on compliments.
Great choice of quotes and music.😊
I wanted both happiness and truth.😊
It has to be both of those things or it is not worth it.
I agree.😊😊
