Warhammer Army Planning, going from 3000pts to 5000pts and beyond.

There are 11 days left before the BIG GAME of Eternal Carnage where I shall pit the might of my Imperial Army against three opponents and everything that they have that is painted and ready for battle!

I have my 3045pts of forces ready for battle, but based on what my opponents said that they will be bringing to the table, I need to get up to 5,100pts ready to hit the table!

So I need a plan to get there and get there FAST!...

So this is how I intend to do it!

Making up the points Gap!

Mortis Dreadnought 130pts

Wulfen Dreadnought 155pts

Drop Pod - 70pts

Predator Destructor - 130pts

Stormraven - 255pts

Ballistus Dreadnought - 170pts

Imperial Guard Tank Commander in Leman Russ - 240pts

Leman Russ Battle Tank - 190pts

Leman Russ Exterminator - 200pts

Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf plus Black Death - 125pts

Wolf Guard Battle Leader on Thunderwolf plus Frost Weapon - 105pts

Thunderwolf Cavalry x3 - 100pts

Plus

Long Fang Pack - 150pts

This gives me an additional 2020pts which puts me on a grand total of 5,065pts!

So... enough posting and time for painting!

Cheers!

Another option is to get all the unbuilt/unpainted plastic rank & file, get them assembled and give them a hasty paintjob with an aerosol basecoat followed by what we call "dip & flick". A quick dunk in a dipping wash, flick off the excess and then when it's dry spend 30 seconds on each figure picking out a key item or two (guns, shoulder pads, highlights or whatever).

Give the bases a quick wash with a different colour and you can put together a huge number of ordinary infantry really fast, then add detail at a later stage.

Lol. Indeed. But I don't think I can paint like that.

Well, Drop pod is ready. Very happy with it

Just scrolling through your post made me smile - like literally!.. These figurines look so dope and you are clearly very passionate about the game. Do you ever do any vids of your game play? And are the points for each piece decided before hand by those going to battle? ..or is there like a set rule book? #fascinated

There is 40 years worth of lore and rules. Currently the 10th Edition of rules just came out. So yeah Games Workshop balances the points of the units.

Oh that's dope.. wild actually - 40 years is hectic! ..I'm kinda picturing some sort of council which convenes to update the lore and rules every so often. Very cool. Thanks mate.

Is there any chance we might get a battle report out of Eternal Carnage?

Oh definitely!

Its tricky to get every detail in, but with a battle such as this, I plan on taking the before and after photos of each turn as well as some action pics once the two sides start inflicting damage on one another!

For sure! I have had a lot of models sitting in my garage. From models I got from other peoples's collections (either gifts or bought) to brand new models still in their boxes.

There is a term called the: Pile of Shame.... mine is quite large.
