Warhammer 40k - We got the Leviathan box!

That fateful day has arrived and I went to Sword and Board Hobby store to fetch our Leviathan box set!

The Space Marines for me and the Tyranids for my son @merenludick!

He was extremely excited!

But seriously, he could not contain his happiness.

He got his half of his box from a combination of mark money and birthday money. Now he will need to assemble and paint them! Awesome!

I needed to do a few things before the unboxing but Meren was busy inspecting every detail that he could on the outside of the box while he waited for me.

I then proceeded the open the box with a big knife because my craft knife was left on site so the other guys can work with it.

Opening the box revealed more details. Meren points out the Salamanders Terminator, his favourite Chapter of Space Marines.

And I point to the Space Wolf Terminator. My favourite Chapter.

Meren points to the color scheme for Hive Fleet Behemoth. This will be his color scheme and is his favorite colors.

I don't point to any Tyranid colors because none of the foul xenos are my favorite! HAHAHA!

The rulebook is massive and gives the box most of its weight.

The front cover is the Marine side...

While the back has the Tyranid side.

Epic battles shall be fought between the Space Marines and the Tyranids! Better learn those rules @merenludick!

Little brother Matthew was given some of the artwork in the box that he wants to stick to the wall. He is also pro-Space Marine and pro-Space Wolf. In time he will get some of his own models!

Oh and there are a lot of them! They are push-fit and should be easy to assemble. I shall need to get something to cut them from the sprue so we can get started with them soon!

The Terminator Captain and the Winged Tyranid Prime share the same sprue.

@aimeludick, my daughter also came by and got something from the box that she is going to put up in her room. lol

We then spend a good half an hour paging through the rulebook. Just quickly paging mind... just to skim over the contents.

There is also this mission deck box that has all the deployment, mission, primary objectives, secondary objectives, gambits and objective tokens inside. Extremely cool!

Now all I want to do is play 40k! I am so stoked!

But this week is going to be really busy at work so I will have to be patient. Also this coming weekend, my wife and I are going away for the weekend and I will need to wait for the weekend after this one before I might get a chance to see a battle.

In the meantime I am applying my "get paint on your brush" philosophy and I must say, it is working rather well!

If I put paint on a brush, I might as well put some on a model!
