Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.

I should have started when 10th edition launched!

This is Review #100, I am 313 reviews behind! Back to where I was...

Picking them randomly, let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:

World Eaters, Lord Invocatus

Hitting triple digits in the reviews and I have another Epic Hero to review! This time Lord Invocatus of the World Eaters Legion.

I don't know much about this character, as he was added to the game much later than other characters I know... So I shall need to read about him.

Known as Khorne's Thunderbolt, this Chaos Lord is a born Marauder. He rides a special Khorne Juggernaught called Khal'guruth, the Steed of the Burning Sky. So funny bit is that apparently this thing runs through the air and in 9th edition he had the ability to fly.

Instead he has lost the Fly keyword and has the Mounted keyword instead.

There used to be a unit known as Khorne Juggernaughts in 40k but I now only see them in the fantasy games. Instead Lord Invocatus leads Khorne Berserkers or Eightbound.

He costs 140pts to field and $65 to buy.

Let's see his stats! No doubt, he is going to be a beast in melee!

Weapons

Range:

Bolt Pistol
Range 12", 1 Attack, Hitting on 2+, S4, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Pistol

Melee:

Coward’s Bane
7 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S6, Ap -2, 2 Damage each
Devastating Wounds(6's to Wound bypass saves and causes Mortal Wounds)

Juggernaut’s bladed horn
4 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S6, Ap -1, 2 Damage each
Lance (+1 to Wound Rolls on the Charge)
Extra Attacks (Can strike with this weapon as well as others.)

Abilities

Scouts 6" (Before the game starts, Lord Invocatus and his unit can move 6" as long as they stay outside of 9" of an enemy army.

Counter-attacks

While leading a unit, they can fall back, shoot and charge.

Road of Eight Bloody Steps

Before the game starts and before you do your Scout moves, You can select 2x Infantry models within 6" of Lord Invocatus. Those units gain Scout 6" as well.

Thoughts

What's faster than a unit with Scout?

Three units with Scout!

Grabbing a sizable chunk of the army and ramming them forward towards the enemy is damn dangerous. Once you realize how fast a World Eaters army is, it becomes even MORE dangerous.

The only way to stop this from killing you is to either rapidly redeploy, use Infiltrators as a sacrifice or Hammer and Anvil that unit.

Most units cannot hope to be Anvils against Khorne armies.

That makes 3 World Eaters Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 13.04% Completed! The total Completed is 10.29% Complete! Can I review them all?!
