Warhammer 40k - Unit Review Library 97 - Adeptus Mechanicus, Corpuscarii Electro-Priests
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
410 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #97, I am still 313 reviews behind!
Picking them randomly, let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:
Adeptus Mechanicus, Corpuscarii Electro-Priests
10th Edition Codex
Corpuscarii Electro-Priests are a crazy and cooky bunch of Mechanicus fanatics who have modified their bodies so they become literal Pikachus. Filled with something (from their belief system) called the Motive Force, they run around the battlefield with no shirts on and zapping those that get close enough with their electrostatic gauntlets.
They are a bit of a funny unit, I feel that it is their job to be annoying and sacrificing themselves like the crazy fanatics that they are!
They are 70pts for a unit of 5 or 140pts for a unit of 10.
The kit is $58 to purchase for 10 of them.
Let's see their stats!
Stats
Movement 6"
Toughness 3
Save 7+/5++/5+++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 1
Ld 7+
OC 1
So human toughness with a 5+ invul and a 5+ Feel No Pain to shrug off at least some of the wounds coming in.
Weapons
Ranged:
Electrostatic gauntlets
12" Range, 3 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S5, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Pistol, Sustained Hits 2 (this means a roll of a 6 to Hit, scores another 2 hits!)
Melee:
Electrostatic gauntlets
3 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S5, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Sustained Hits 2
Abilities
Electro-shock
The usual "slow-down" effect that we see on a lot of units, like the Barbgaunts with Disruption Bombardment or the Cthonian Beserks Subterranean Explosives.
So a unit hit with their shooting attack, -2 Movement, -2 to Advance and -2 to Charges.
However...
Thoughts
What I do not like about this ability on this unit is that they only have a 12" range. Basically pistol range, charge range. It is too late to slow him down. The other units with similar abilities have at least got a 24" range. This means that the reduction of movement have a decent chance to slow the enemy down.
Instead of that ability, I would have had the Electro-shock ability cause the enemy to always strike last of something like that.
To slow a unit down until the next turn means that you don't really plan on charging the enemy with the Electropriests OR you don't intend to really utilize the ability.
Unless perhaps the enemy unit is extremely powerful and they stun an enemy AND move block them, making themselves a sacrificial unit to stop the enemy.
Possible...
That makes 7 Adeptus Mechanicus Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 23.33% Completed! The total Completed on 9.98% Complete! Can I review them all?!
Thank you for reading!

Really Great review as always brother. I also think they’re better suited for disruptive tactics rather than direct combat.
Indeed. I wonder how many squads of these one unit of Blood Claws can saw through...
Gotta be a lot
I think we shall roll it out sometime!
that'll be cool brother
Been looking at some narrative stuff... need to fix the Selfie Stand and do some videos too.
oooooo now that would be awesome man, can't wait to start checking your videos too
