Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.

A Fortis Killteam is a variable Deathwatch team of Intercessors, Assault Intercessors, Hellblasters and Outriders.

It is one of the unit selections that does not come in a box but you can cobble it together from other units.

You either pay 115pts for a 5 man squad of Intercessors.

Or you pay 230pts for the following options, but you are restricted to a maximum of 10 models:

1x Intercessor (Sergeant)
4-9 Intercessors
0-4 Assault Intercessors
0-4 Intercessors with plasma incinerators(Hellblasters)
0-2 Killteam Outriders

Let's start with their base stats.

Stats

All the Infantry:
Movement 6"
Toughness 4
Save 3+(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 2
Ld 6+
OC 1

Outriders:
Movement 12"
Toughness 5
Save 3+(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 4
Ld 6+
OC 2

Weapons

Options

As is usual with Kill Teams... there are a lot of options. I will try summarize:

One Intercessor can replace his bolt rifle for a Astartes Chainsword or Long Vigil Melee Weapon.
One Intercessor can replace his bolt rifle for a hand flamer, plasma pistol, Astartes Chainsword or Long Vigil Melee Weapon
For every 5 models, a Bolt File can be replaced with a Long Vigil Ranged Weapon
The Hellblasters can replace their bolt pistol with plasma pistols.

Ranged:

Bolt Pistol

Range 12", 1 Attack, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Pistol (Can be fired while in engagement range of enemy units as long as you shoot that unit.)

Heavy Bolt Pistol

Range 18", 1 Attack, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap -1, 1 Damage each
Pistol (Can be fired while in engagement range of enemy units as long as you shoot that unit.)

Plasma Pistol – Standard firing option

Range 12", 1 Attack, Hitting on 3+, S7, Ap -2, 1 Damage each
Pistol (Can be fired while in engagement range of enemy units as long as you shoot that unit.)

Plasma Pistol – Overcharged firing option

Range 12", 1 Attack, Hitting on 3+, S8, Ap -3, 2 Damage each
Pistol (Can be fired while in engagement range of enemy units as long as you shoot that unit.)
Hazardous (After using this weapon, roll a dice, on a 1 that model takes 3 Mortal Wounds.)

Hand Flamer

Range 12", D6 Attacks, Hits Automatically, S3, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Pistol (Can be fired while in engagement range of enemy units as long as you shoot that unit.)
Torrent (Roll a D6 for number shot, these automatically wound)
Ignores cover (The target never gets benefit of cover.)

Bolt Rifle

Range 24", 2 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap 1, 1 Damage each
Assault (Unit can Advance and shoot this weapon)
Heavy (When this unit remains stationary, add +1 to Hit rolls)

Long Vigil Ranged Weapon

Range 24", 1 Attack, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Rapid Fire 1 (Get 1 Additional attack at half range of 12")
Devastating Wounds (Critical Wounds, rolling a 6 to Wound, cause Mortal Wounds)
Anti-Infantry 4+ (Causes Critical Wounds against Infantry on a 4+ and thus triggers Devastating Wounds.)

Plasma Incinerator – Standard Firing option

Range 24", 2 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S7, Ap -2, 1 Damage each
Assault (Unit can Advance and shoot this weapon)
Heavy (When this unit remains stationary, add +1 to Hit rolls)

Plasma Incinerator – Overcharged Firing option

Range 24", 2 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S8, Ap -3, 2 Damage each
Assault (Unit can Advance and shoot this weapon)
Heavy (When this unit remains stationary, add +1 to Hit rolls)
Hazardous (After using this weapon, roll a dice, on a 1 that model takes 3 Mortal Wounds.)

Twin Bolt Rifle

Range 24", 2 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap 1, 1 Damage each
Twin-linked (Re-roll Wound rolls)

Melee:

Close Combat Weapon

3 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4, Ap 0, 1 Damage each

Astarted Chainsword

4 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S4, Ap -1, 1 Damage each

Long Vigil Melee Weapon

3 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S5, Ap -2, 1 Damage each

Abilities

Fortis Doctrines

When their target is below-Half strength, they add 1 to the to Hit rolls.

Thoughts

This Team is a bit strange. I don't think I would ever play the 5 man team. Its too expensive and getting a +1 to Hit on a half dead infantry unit is... terrible.

Mixed squad I would go 2 bikes, Sergeant with Long Vigil Melee Weapon, 4 Hellblasters, 2 guys with Long Vigil Ranged Weapons and one guy with a Hand Flamer.

Gives you a decent bit of light and heavy infantry and you can certain!

That makes 7 Deathwatch Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 63.63% Completed! The total Completed is 11.94% Complete! Can I review them all?!
