Warhammer 40k - Sternguard Veterans Assemble!

This post is part of my series to help raise funds for a sick friend: Fund Raiser

So I am building my Sternguard Veteran Squad from the Leviathan Box set.

This unit, as its name implies is a squad of Space Marine Veterans, meaning they are part of the Chapter's 1st Company or possibly one single elite squad from another Company... but usually the 1st Company.

The unit in the box is modelled that out of the five, one is armed with a Heavy bolter, 2 of them have Combi-weapons and 2 of them have Sternguard Rifles.

Its a good mix of guns but if there was a kit, any unit in the squad could have either the rifle or the Combi-Weapon.

Combi Weapons have less shots but have Anti-Infantry 4+ and Devastating wounds meaning that against infantry they never roll a to-wound at worse than a 4+. Additionally, on a 4+ to Wound, the attack is a Critical Wound against Infantry and thus causes Mortal Wounds!

I think there are several ways of playing this unit in a game this coming Wednesday against some more Tyranids!
