Warhammer 40k - Space Wolf Kitbashing - Blurring the lines!

Hello everyone and welcome to another Warhammer army progress post. If you are reading this and you do not already have a Hive/Ecency account (and you probably found your way here because I told you about my blog), then please consider opening an account so you can upvote and interact we me and other hobbyists on Hive!

Today I would like to show you some kitbashing that I did recently.

Recently I have been working on part of my Space Wolf Great Company and what better way to build it than to take part in the Sword and Board Slow Grow event. Slowly scaling up the army and adding more and more units to it.

This has given me the opportunity to use both the old Space Marines (Firstborn) and the newer Primaris kits.

7th, 8th and 9th Edition put a lot of Emphasis on the difference between Firstborn and Primaris... primarily, I think, to sell models.

Right now there is a sort of equilibrium where Firstborn have not been phased out in the lore and there is some support for the classics.

To be honest, 10th Edition's blur in the differences between them is MORE lore friendly as during the Indominus crusade and onward, Guilliman often put Firstborn Marine leaders at the head of forces of Primaris Marines.

In the case of Space Wolves, with their typical stance on adoption and then non-conformance, it is possible that a Battle Brother of Russ may find themselves Firstborn leading Primaris, Primaris leading Firstborn, squads that are mixed due to ongoing wars and Warrior Bands coming together under the leadership of a Pack leader as is needed.

So look at some of these recent examples!

Assault Intercessor body, Space Wolf sprue head, Space Wolf sprue bolt pistol arm and shoulderpad.

Looks awesome!

Assault Intercessor Body, Space Wolf Helm, Space Wolf Astartes Chainsword, Firstborn Space Wolf power pack and glyph and Space Wolf Shoulderpad.

Assault Intercessor Body. Choppped out Sword Arm and replaced it with Firstborn Space Wolf Power Fist, Space Wolves Plasma pistol, Space Wolf Firstborn head.

Space Wolf Firstborn legs, body, shoulder pads and head. Space Marine Primaris Command Sprue Powerfist and Plasma Pistol.

And a sneaky Primaris Power Pack. hehe

I think all of this looks good. With some 3D printed bases and some paint, players will really need to look to spot the differences!

And that, my friends, is how you write a small blog about your hobby.

My income on this post is not guaranteed, so it might be R5, R50 or R500. There is no way to tell. HOWEVER, a little bit of hobby blogging constantly very quickly adds up!

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Cheers!

Strong fighters, epic weapons, that's a solid army brother. Your kitbashing skills are impressive man. Mixing old and new Space Wolves models is a great way to blend tradition with modern updates. It's cool how you're adapting the lore to your creations. Can't wait to see the next one !WEED

Every little bit helps when you have an expensive hobby, especially one attached to a game.

These units are going to be awesome!
