Warhammer 40k - Second Leviathan clash facing @xenowolfza at Sword and Board

In the picture above is the one and only @xenowolfza as he and I get ready to duke it out in a Leviathan match-up at Sword and Board hobby shop. Space Marines vs. Tyranids!

I am not so sure about all the pictures but I will do my best to explain what was going on!

We drew a mission: Scorched Earth and chose Fixed Objectives.
I chose Assassinate and Bring it Down which @xenowolfza chose Assassinate and Engage on All Fronts.

We picked a random deployment, our deployment zones were slanted across the table and he managed to get his Von Rhyn's Leapers to Infiltrate right in the corner along the side of my army... but then I got first turn!

Meanwhile there were plenty of bugs on the other side of the table.

This was the view from his side of the board. I used my Sternguard to hold the backline objective. Meanwhile he used his Barbgaunts and Termagaunts to do the same thing.

As I said above, this is where he advanced. My first turn I used Oath of Moment targeting the Psychophage (same as my watch against @merenludick) and wasted the bug before it could so much as drool on the floor!

My Infernus Marines advanced and roasted 2 Leapers.

The remaining Leaper tried to get away from the flamers.

The Screamer Killer had run towards the objective in the hopes of catching the elusive sneaky Lieutenant but Evade and Survive saw me moving in HIS movement phase and getting away safely.

In my Second turn I nominated the Screamer Killer as the Oath of Moment target (same as my game against @merenludick) and reliably moved my Ballistus Dreadnought and Terminators and wasted the big bug.

Meanwhile Infernus Marines roasted some Termagaunts.

I did not take any pics of it but he did Deep Strike his Rippers and his Winged Tyranid Prime into a building near my Marines.

The next Oath of Moment target was the Neurotyrant's unit and... reliably it was destroyed!

By the end of the game I had destroyed every single Tyranid while suffering... three models as casualties!

The MVP in this army seems to be the Ballistus Dreadnought. He reliably looks at something and makes it dissapear.

The final Score:

At this point I feel that the Space Marines are overpowered compared to the Tyranids in this box... but more Tyranids in a full 2000pts game are a very different sort of game.

I look forward to it!

We had a lot of fun with this game anyway and I think both myself and @xenowulfza learned a lot!

When it is possible, and my wife @clairemobey allows it, I would like to continue to go through to the hobby shop on Wednesdays that I am able to go. Its good to play a game, socialize a bit and exercise those brain muscles!

On Wednesady @xenowolfza and I will clash again but this time with full 2000pts armies. Space Wolves vs Space Wolves!

Thank you for reading!

Cheers!

Ooooh! right. There should be an assembly guide in the box, but check for 3rd party guides on how to build them on Youtube, there should be quite a few.

Usually push-fit works, sometimes it does not.

I think you should get yourself some plastic cement anyway. I use the Tamiya brand. Of course, once you have dry-fit your model and decided on a pose then you apply the glue.
