Warhammer 40k - New 40k Codex incoming! And Deathwatch Army disappearing!

Hey everyone! Zak here from South Africa.

Games Workshop has announced the newest Codex to be released for Warhammer 40,000 10th Edition to be Codex: Imperial Agents.

Now, the big Shake-up here is that usually, up till now, Imperial Agents already existed and they have an Army Rule that allows them to be attacked to another army depending on the size of the army being played.

This is remaining, but you can also build an army that is an Imperial Agents army.

The Army seems to be dealing with the 3 main branches of the Imperial Inquisition as well as the Imperial navy:

Imperial Navy

This represents the veritable armies on board kilometers long vessels. There are troops that are not part of the armies that the ships transport that are part of the ship's crew. These troops repel boarders or even board other ship during war.

Ordo Malleus

Demon Hunters who can call upon the Grey Knights in assisting them in eliminating daemonic threats!

Ordo Hereticus

Witch Hunters who call upon the Sisters of Battle to take down vile witches and mutants.

Ordo Xenos

Alien Hunters. There seek to prevent invasions, infections and even the sharing of ideas with alien species. They are able to call upon the Deathwatch, a special organization made up of different Space Marine Chapters.

So each branch of the Inquisition has its own Chamber Militant. Specialized soldiers who come from different organizations to the Inquisitors themselves that work alongside them to eradicate various foes.

The Big problem!

GW has announced that the Index Deathwatch will be no more!

Meanwhile you will be able to put SOME Grey Knights or Sisters of Battle into the army as you see fit, but Deathwatch will also be reduced in number!

So this has made me realize that my Warhammer 40k - Unit Review Library which has now reached 110 entries is in danger!

I knew and accepted that Codexes will replace Indexes and that units will change... but I had not counted on a whole faction dissapearing! In a new Codex some rules and values may change and there might be new units and rarely they might remove units.

Without having reviewed the faction as it currently stands, I might not be able appreciate the difference between the new rules and the old ones.

I realized that Index Imperial Agents also has that condition.

Imperial Agents have 17 Datasheets and I have done 4 of them, putting them on 23% done.
Deathwatch have even fewer, with 11 Datasheers, 4 done so 36% done.

So I realize that I shall need to do two things:

1. Expedite the Reviews of Deathwatch and Imperial Inquisition.
   I think I should alternate between the two until they are done.

• Continue with my Army Rule Review (I was busy with the Astra Militarum), I need to do their Detachment Review and then do Imperial Agents as they are NOW, then Space Marines Army rule and Black Spear Task Force as it stands right now.

Once these are done, they are closed off and I can set them aside until the Codex is out and we can assess what the differences between the new and old rules!

So wish me luck while I drive this review process and get things done!
