Warhammer 40k - Leviathan Outrage! How GW has dropped the ball on their 3rd party retailers!

In the Grim Darkness of the Far Future... there is a lack of plastic and cardboard apparently.

The Awesome Leviathan Box is Launching the new 10th Edition of the core rules.

But... there are not enough Boxes for the 3rd Part Retailers! GW (Games-Workshop) seem to be getting together plenty of stock for their Direct-Order supply, but our local hobby store was told the following:

Sorry, we can only send you 30 copies of Leviathan!

Meanwhile, Sword and Board Hobby Shop had over 100 orders for the this box lined up! How terrible!

This is what comes in the box:

And there will be NO SECOND WAVE for Leviathan Boxes!

There shall be the same minis in these boxes of Combat Patrol:

However, the Marine Box is missing the Dreadnought, 5 Infernus Marines and the Phobos Lieutenant.
The Tyranids are missing the Neurotyrant and the Screamer Killer!

Nuts!

Not to mention that the Core Rules and Cards will not be in there either... So... not as good of a value for money!

The Good News

The good news it that I placed my order early enough with Sword and Board and that @merenludick and I will be getting our box so we can split it up! Awesome!

The retail price has been established as R3300 for the box which means the following for me:

I need around R1675 and @merenludick needs around R1625.

I belive Meren has saved around R1260 so he is nearly there.

My Hobby Fund is currently aroudn $15 HBD so more or less R258... but I should be able to borrow from other savings and blog it back in.

Thank you for reading!

Cheers!

Yeah, GW have been pulling that crap for years. It's like they hate their own retailers, and it happens too often to be accidental.

When I had a shop, I got to the point where I stopped taking pre-paid preorders, and either did a straight "first come, first served" or operated a sequential list so if (say) GW only sent us 10 boxes of a thing, the first 10 on the list would get them provided they collected on the day of release. I also had to have a strict "one box each" policy, because I had a couple of customers who'd hoover up the whole supply if they could just to resell them on eBay at a huge markup (a breach of GW policy which would get the retailer in trouble).
