WARHAMMER 40k - 10th Edition Box annouched! Needs hobby monies! Please help! Haha!
Just look at this awesomeness! Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan – What’s In The Box?
So... we are 1-2 months away from the launch of the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. I started in 3rd edition and now 10th edition is launching.
Usually every new edition is launched with a box like this: Two Armies (usually the main protagonist and antagonist factions) large enough to field a battle, the new core rules and then some other bits and pieces.
This time around, my (nearly) 13 year old son, @merenludick and I will be buying the box together. He has decided to go for the Hive Swarm of the Tyranids as his army of choice. He's also keen on other aliens.
All good since I collect nothing but Imperial and Votann armies (basically ALL of humanity!)
So I am super excited about this.
There is a guestimate of around £150 or $245 for this box. This means the box should retail in South Africa for around R3500 using the GBP price and R4500 using the USD price... strange. How do they convert this stuff? lol
Well... I will need to blog a lot about 40k to build up my funds for this and that is the plan. For me, my WARHAMMER posts add to my hobby fund.
Meanwhile all of @merenludick's HBD will be put towards his hobby fund!
I will be taking the 25 Marines Models and the core rulebook while Meren will be taking the massive 47 model Tyranid army!
At the same time, I have needed to purchase a R1500 bundle of models from a friend... so I have a lot to save for!

Absolutely a best value for money situation!
This box is meant to be around £150.
The Space Marines in this box alone would retail for around £260 alone.
Tyranids for around £300 and the rulebooks and cards for around £60.
So a total of £620 for £150.
As for the second hand market. That is a whole subject of discussion! Depends if they are unbuilt vs built. Unpainted vs Painted and then finally HOW WELL they have been painted.
Usually the value is less built and painted unless they are painted really well. If they are painted at a high standard, their value would go up should you have a buyer for the models.
