Titan Quest: Tale of the Wu Part 9
Good day to all my Hive friends and all the gamers out there.
Last time on Tale of the Wu Part 8, where I am playing through Titan Quest and attempting to get through all the vanilla content with a brand new character and get through to the new content in the Eternal Embers expansion that I have never played.
So last time I battled my way through a jungle, stole some old ladies' eye, and jumped through a witch's portal so I can get to the literal gates of hell... well... the gates of Hades.
And this is how it rolled!
So I got to Charon's Dock, where the dead are unable to cross the river STINKS... erm... I mean Styx. Anyway, the boatman is not around, the usual guy that is supposed to ferry souls across to their afterlife... now where could he be?
There are some pretty spooky aesthetics in this place. Check out this brazier... now... is this a person or is there a Hades Decor Corps of demons just building this stuff?
Oh there is the boatman! Get back to work you! Souls need to get to the afterlife... then you notice that you are standing on a bridge... a literal bridge over the river that keeps demons and souls INSIDE the afterlife... this is not good!
And... this is why! The boatman Charon is actually a demon that serves Hades and instead of ferrying and looking after the souls of mortals, this guy is overseeing the construction of the bridge to allow the armies of hell... Hades... to march out of the underworld.
Also, he kinda looks like Watto in his second form.
Watto
Then I kicked him down, watch out for all the water geysers, Charon can be quite deadly!
And his loot was underwhelming... meh.
But he drops a magic oar that you take back the Shades of the dead so one of the mortals can take over Charon's work.
I mean... I ASSUME it is magical? Surely they could have made an oar about literally anything so I am going to assume that you really need to have this specific oar to do the job... I mean, Charon was a lot of hard work in order to give some ghosts a stick...
Onwards and we see that there are plenty of other bridges under construction.
From literal swamps beyond Rhodes, fighting against frog tribes to fighting in swampy dark waters in Hades against... pale frog things... right... anyway...
And Troglodytes. Look at this fine specimen. lol
There is also a massive Hydradon. I am just glad I do not need to fight whatever made those bones. I know the bones are supposed to make this "Lurker" seem more powerful and scary but the bones look way bigger than the actual beastie... but wait, this game does have some really big foes!
And I shall finish this installment with this wonderful Greek aesthetic. Next part I think, if memory serves me correct, I will come across a city of Shades who have not passed the judgment of the Tribunal. This is what Greek dead need to pass and then be sorted into either Elysium or Tartarus!
Until next time.
Cheers!
