Titan Quest: Tale of the Wu Part 8
Good day everyone and fellow gamers of the Hive Gaming Community!
It's been a while since my last update of Yu the Wu in Titan Quest (Part 7 Here).
The Tale of Yu the Wu is pretty much myself doing a playthrough of this classic hack and slash game. I had not played the newest expansion to Titan Quest. What I always do when there is a new expansion is start from scratch with a character that has the new Mastery added to the game, thus I am playing Nedian + Earth Masteries to make a Wu character.
So I am still in the Normal Difficulty with my character, I finished the base game Acts around two Parts of this series ago. I am now further into Act 4 which is part of Immortal Throne.
Let's get into it!
Right, so I am in the Jungles and Temple Ruins around Rhodes. This Act is quite long and just this section could feel a lot like playing a mini Act all on its own. In the previous part I arrived at the Temple of Appolo and did all of those coastal quests.
Now it is into the swamps I go. Collecting ingredients for a potion, exploring ancient ruins, fighting an undead Queen and saving a child's life, the main objective here would be to get to the Weird Sisters and steal the Eye from them so the witch Medea can help me get... to hell... Hades! you know what I mean!
It gets super dark in these swamps. This makes it very difficult to see your enemies especially when some of them are walking trees and some of them are nearly camoflaged crabs...
PRO TIP: If you struggle to play in the dark ambient in the game, open a town portal, travel to another Act - Like Egypt, then travel back. The loading interval seems to reset or forward on the ambient time and it will be daytime in the area again when you return!
Out of all the mino quest badguys... this little plant I fear the most. Many characters had died fighting the Nightshade plant. Make sure you have plenty poison resistance!
The Nedian is a bit more resillient against poisons than other characters. It did not give me trouble... this time... in Epic and Legendary it may be worse...
I picked up some Penepole's Slippers. Funny that, since I am travelling down to Hades... Hades being the God of the Underworld and Penepole being his wife and all. Maybe I can return her slippers to her? HAHAHA!
And here they are... the Weird Sisters. 3 crazy good spell casters, they are a bit more powerful than a uncommon hero each, but together they can be tricky indeed.
They pass the eye from one to the other and when one of them has the eye, the seem to cast better spells. It is noteworthy to keep an eye on the sister with the Eye and see when she casts a big spell so you can dodge it!
There is one move they do where they cast a vortex on the ground and it follows you. I would suggest that you stay out of this unless you have boat-loads of health!
Down to one sister and I could do another screenshot. That mist is also something to stay out of!
Great, here is the Eye for Medea and I am likened to the hero Perseus. Neat... open the portal witch!
Another area opens up where you fight through a broken city and some countryside. You fight the first major waves of the demon hordes that are marching out of Hades and destroying human settlements.
Then... in the Pindos Mountains you find a passage going down, like an ordinary looking cave...
... the cave enterence looks really unassuming... but this is going to be a total gear shift for your brain as you travel further.
The Passage of Souls! No fighting happens here but you can see all the souls of those who die travel down into Hades. The good and the bad souls all go down the same way before being judged.
This is still one side of the River Styx - The river the dead must cross in Greek Mythology. This is the place you needed money to pay for the ferry to take you across to the other side and why Greeks then buried their dead with a coin over each eye, to pay the fee.
Finally, we end this Part of the Tale with a Note found on the ground. These items have no significance in the game other than humour. There is nothing you can do with them... with most of them... there IS one you can do something with... but I will cover that another time.
For the fun of it, this one reads:
Form W-900
Grievances and Tribulations,
Underworld division
Please remove bottom copy for
your records.
Please describe the nature of
you complaint:
Sword in belly.
Please describe what we can do
to help:
Remove sword from belly.
Additional comments/concerns:
Ouch
🤣🤣🤣
This seems to be some sort of form filled in by a soldier of Hades' army.
And that will be all for today's Tale.
Thank you very much for reading my post. Soon it shall be time for me to tavel into the depts of Hades and do battle against the Corrupt God and all those who serve him!
Until next time.
Cheers!
