I know what it is like and feel for you. Mine is on it's last legs and the plan is to get a new laptop next year with profits from the bull cycle.

I was waiting for this update, but I understand the situation. Don't worry about it. I know what is like something like that happens. Two years ago my hard drive broke and it was impossible to recover the information, so I lost almost 8 years of data that time. Take your time to solve the situation, you'll come back stronger than ever.

Huh... Sorry to hear that you had big laptop issues... One of my biggest concerns is exactly what happened to you... That's why I try to remind myself to do regular backups of my data, at least every few months!

Hey everyone. Sorry to say but my laptop has broken down again.

I have determined that this drive is mechanically broken.

A few minutes ago I wrote about the exact same thing to @ironshield under his post.

That nowadays the laptops are financially cheap, especially compared to the 1990s, but their quality and durability is very bad in most cases.

Hopefully soon you will be able to fix your laptop.

But I would try to buy something more quality, something more durable in your place.

I currently do not know what kind of laptop you use, but generally the business class laptops still have relatively good quality. But they are more expensive too than the consumer laptops.

Ouch ! Clearly you need to pedal harder to keep that hard disk up to speed 😜

Since there's no data for SBI's, I've sent them both to you, @zakludick - you deserve them and hopefully they'll gradually tick away building upvotes until one day (many years from now) they'll have covered the entire cost of a replacement hard drive 😀

I'm really sorry to hear about your hard drive, Zak. I've definitely learned to be quite judicious about backups, especially under the decidedly non-computer-friendly jungle environment. Putting important documents in secure cloud storage is also very helpful. I hope that you're able to resolve the situation quickly and easefully!
