I did my part! Voting Day
Today was voting day, which is a public holiday. I still went to work from 7am till 12am. Then off site to go scope out my voting station, got something to eat and drink and then went to stand in a que.
The que took about 2 hours. I almost immediately struck up a conversation with the man standing in line in front of me.
We chatted up a storm and time passed easily. There was a Karen in the line ahead of me who complained at some stage about having a headache and that we needed to speak softer.
Lol!
Anyway. The job is done. The voting cast.
We cast three votes: National, Provincial and Regional.
Ive done my part!
I then went home. Had a shower and relaxed a bit. Going out to play a game of Warhammer against Daniel.
See you all later!
Cheers!
@zakludick
Aha, we all marked after the wait !LOLZ
Not such a long queue here only fifteen minutes after midday, those who arrived early stood for two hours plus as well. All depends on the voting station readiness and how many arrive at the same time.
Done our duty, now the waiting game is on!

Indeed. I got very sick after voting... what was a a tickle in the morning turned into full sick by the end of the day.
Get better soon, with cold front arriving in the Cape not a time to be ill and cold. Yup we did what we need to do on the day....
I am still down and out.... 😪😪😪
Hope you feel better soon, brew some Ginger and Turmeric roots, drink down, best medicine to chase chest problems away.
4 hours in Johannesburg and checked this morning and went this evening with the queues not getting any smaller. More people voting this time around.
Eish. That is a long time in the que. Well, it is a good thing to see more people voting!
Yes the turnout was bigger than last time which only had a 2 hour queue where we vote.
Last time I had the luxury to arrive first thing in the morning and I was about 30th or 20th in line. Most of my time spent in line was waiting for them to open.
This time I worked till 12:00, started in line at 13:45 and ended at 15:45. I think? Around there.
Everyone here seems to like getting it done early here too. I try and do it late afternoon with next to no que but its a drag trying not to forget all day. Great they did all 3 levels on one day ours are often spread out.

Ouch! Three levels across three days?! Nuts.
No, we scan our ID Card, check off against a register, get the thumb mark, then get three slips. Red, yellow and Blue - one for each mark. We then put them into the appropriate boxes and go out. Simple as that.
We have the scan id now too but no thumb mark.

Yeah the thumb mark does not wear off, its just another level of trying to stop persons from double voting!
Is it compulsory, we supposed to get a fine if we don't vote.
