Armchair Theatre 19th August - Sights and Sounds
Yesterday I went through to the Armchair theatre to support my wife - Claire and my friend Jasper. They are MobeyDick - a multi-genre band/duo extraordinaire and heaps and heaps of talent in a small duo.
I will leave the musicians to write their own posts about their performances. This post instead is about the venue and all the acts that were playing that night.
Also, shoutout to @xenowolfza and his wife: Thank you so much for pulling through and supporting the local musicians.
So 4 people on Hive at an event! Soon, possibly even more people will join Hive and we will see great adoption on the platform!
This venue was very different from Claire and Jasper's usual haunts. This was far more... rock-style and well... Obs.
Obs is short for Observatory. It is a party hub of Cape Town and a place a lot of University Students and other young people go to get... their party on. lol
Nevertheless the venue was really pretty and the people were actually really friendly inside. The woodfired pizza were thin-base and they were very good!

First Look inside - One of 3 bars. I shall call this the Music Bar.
There was another bar further in, this was across from a lot of seating, this also had access to the kitchens and thus this was the place that people ordered food for.
Upstairs there is yet another bar and this was more for people chilling and playing beer pong.
I took a picture of my drinks and the bar. Without protesting, the bar lady made sure to make eye contact with the camera.
My drinks - a Fynbos Vodka Ice Tea Special. Careful with this stuff, it tastes like cooldrink so knocking them back is way too easy!
