A Guide for new Hive Students of 2022 - Invite and teach

Good day and welcome to Hive!

If you are reading this, you may be someone that I, Zak Ludick (@zakludick) have invited to join us on Hive. You also may be someone who wanted to check out the post, or found it on Listnerds and perhaps the title is something of value to you.

Since the beginning of the year I have been inviting people to join the platform for a variety of reasons but let's start at the beginning.

What is Hive?

Hive is many things, but essentially it is a decentralized blockchain that has a massive potential to build dApps on to it. Someone who programs can create all sorts of applications for all sorts of reasons.

Let me explain it like this:

In a nutshell, there is a new wave of social media coming. Basically, the internet had what we call web 1.0 (websites owned by companies) and web 2.0 (Where Myspace started and Facebook and Instagram have the largest share), web 2.0 is where large companies give us platforms and we can all post what we want.

The next step is web 3.0.

Web 3.0 is decentralized social media. Its still pretty small, but it does not hurt getting profiles started. I believe that the more people get on it, the more it will replace web 2.0 sites.

There is no product, I am not trying to sell you anything. I just believe in putting this in motion as it benefits everyone in the long run.

Every post you do on this platform can earn you a cryptocurrency income. I have been teaching people how to post. A lot of the time, I see people posting superb content on Facebook etc and that is likely why I have sent you this mail.

The platform supports original content and the communities punish people who plagiarise. There is a massive variety of interest groups. From music to sports to cooking to PC gaming, you name it. Loads of groups.

I myself write fiction, post about cooking, braai and whatever else I feel like. Most likely I looked at what content you post and have decided to ask you check it out!

The beauty is, the stronger you grow, the better your support is for your friends. Instead of promoting an attitude where the person who grows fastest is the only person who earns, it encourages the idea of having a group of people who grow together.

I have been teaching people how to become successful and there are some big players in SA who are ready to support a project I bring.

I have decided that instead of trying to onboard one person at a time, I should rather bring a whole interest group on board at the sime time. That way you can all benefit from each other's support and growth.

So when you look at what I teach, think of your whole interest group moving their content on here. There will be bits of money made initially, but after a year and after 3 years the incomes and earnings become better if you are consistent. It is also possible to grow a substantial passive income.

Make no mistake, there is work to be done. It is not just free money. You either come to this platform with money, content or both. You have good content and if you stick with it, you will earn.

I have done this, a good amount of my students have done this and other people far more advanced than I have done this.

I am trying to emphasize the fact that this is a great opportunity to earn extra money and gain passive income, but that it is not a "too good to be true" situation.

It's not difficult, but you cannot go into it thinking that minimal effort will earn you bucket loads of cash.

Myself and my partner @clairemobey (who only started blogging this year) and I have drawn thousands of Rands (for us South Africans) to support our budget when things get tough.

Instead of needing to make a loan to pay for an emergency breakdown while we have a child's birthday (or cancel the birthday) we were able to draw on our blogging earnings and carry on going without needing to struggle.

That's what we were capable of thus far. In a year's time our growth will be exponential!

Where to start

I am loathe to reinvent the wheel and take credit for it. @beeber has a wonderful introduction on how to start that you can read HERE.

Here you can create an account on Hive using the Ecency front-end. I like getting people on Ecency since it has a phone application. The others must be accessed via website URLs.

Hive has many front end websites all using the same blockchain technology. It is the same network with many faces. Different focus groups sometimes have different front ends dedicated to their group such as Leofinance.io, which is a front end where people speak about finance and cryptocurrency.

With your login details you can sign in to any of the front ends!

CAUTION - the most important part that is highlighted in the signup process above is to save your Keys! Do not give others your keys. Your keys, your crypto.

There is no agency that can retrieve them for you. When logging in, use your Posting Key. When moving money, use your Active Key.

Never use your Master/Owner Key unless you need to do a retrieval of the other keys. This is not something you do lightly.

If you do this part, sign up and save your keys, then the learning and guidance can begin!

Please do not try to go it alone. I am here to help and there are many awesome people on Hive that will be happy to help you learn, build and grow!

Cheers for now.

Wow. This is one of the best explanations about hive universe I ever read!

To someone who may read this being totaly new to Social Media 3.0 and Hive, let me add another benefit, thats worldwide connections!
See me, I am from Austria and found real nice people all around the world to go this way together, like @zakludick and @clairemobey from South Africa! How cool is this!

Great post! Yeah it's tough at first but it's not that tough! You earn for posting and you earn for voting and commenting, and as you grow and your vote counts more... your rewards for voting start to become nearly as significant as for posting...

Shoo, Zak! I do have one question for off-line LOL!

It's so frustrating that people have this idea of web 3.0 as this "futuristic" thing, with glowing virtual images and almost supernatural powers... the reality is that web 3.0 is HERE and we're using it NOW. What it can do is almost science fiction, compared to the tech of just 10 years ago, but yet crickets. "Oh crypto, isn't that a scam?" SMH.

The future is NOW!

Indeed. It is right here and right now.

But there is no agency advertising it and shoving it before consumers. It has to come from word of mouth!

Awesome post to introduce Hive and how anyone can get started. People are talking about Web 3.0 and here we are using it. There will be a lot of development and innovation in this space. It feels great to be early to adopt the latest technology and be a part of something bigger.

Indeed! I had a 3 year gap where I was away from the blockchain publishing and social spaces. I wish I had never returned and I see how far people got in those three years. But I am back in action now and busier than ever.

I have grown from 313HP at the start of the year to 876HP so far and I am set to go over that 1000HP milestone soon.

And then there are my students! Together they are now somewhere over 700HP and these people came from 0HP!

I think that even the new people who join today, this year and perhaps even next year will be early adopters. We have not reached a critical point of account creation and adoption yet... but I am doing my best to speed this up!

This is a great explanatory article, if/when I'll find more potential acolytes, I'll send them here first! 😉

Indeed!

I am going to see what I can do about the concept and goal I have in the post above: Do not onboard single people. Onboard groups.

Interest/Focus groups, families, couples, groups of friends etc. Bring them here in chunks.
