Good day! friends and splinterlands community. Today, I will share some knowledge and what I recommend to buy for beginners entering and investing in land. Land ownership might seem like a big step, but it’s a rewarding investment that opens up exciting gameplay possibilities. Owning land allows you to gather resources, craft valuable items, and even earn from in-game assets. However, choosing the right type of land to invest in can make a big difference in your experience, especially as a beginner. Starting with the right plot that’s affordable, resourceful, and flexible—can help you get the most out of your investment while building a strong foundation for growth in The Secret of Praetoria. Here’s a quick guide on what types of land plots work best for new players just starting their journey in Splinterlands.

But before entering Pretoria Land, make sure that you have the necessary cards, Summoners and Monsters that can be assigned to your plots. These cards work as "workers," helping to gather resources and produce items. Higher-level cards or specific abilities can increase the efficiency and productivity of the plot, so it’s beneficial to assign the best available cards to maximize resource output. However, even lower-level cards are sufficient for beginners to start generating resources.

Types of Lands

Land in Splinterlands is divided into different units: Regions, Tracts, and Plots, with each representing a progressively smaller division. A Region consists of 1,000 plots and offers a large-scale opportunity for players looking to build an empire within the game. Within a region, there are smaller Tracts, each containing 100 plots, which are suitable for players who want a smaller yet still profitable land presence. The most basic unit of ownership is a single Plot, which players can use individually to gather resources, build structures, and develop over time. Each plot can have a specific Terrain Type, such as mountains, forests, plains, or swamps, each of which affects what resources can be gathered there and what strategies work best. These types of land divisions provide players with flexible options for land ownership, allowing them to choose how large a role they want the land to play in their overall gameplay.

Time Crystals are a special resource in your land expansion, and they can be extremely useful for boosting your productivity. Essentially, they allow you to speed up building times, resource gathering, and other actions on your plot. While they aren’t strictly necessary, Time Crystals can help players who want to accelerate their progress, especially for tasks that have long wait times. For new players or those with limited time, investing in Time Crystals can be a smart way to enhance the experience without waiting for natural completion times.

Building Structures
On each plot, you’ll want to construct buildings that enable different activities like crafting, resource extraction, and storage. Each building has a unique purpose, such as workshops for crafting items or storage facilities for keeping resources. You’ll also need to upgrade these structures over time to improve your land’s productivity and resource capacity. The more developed your buildings are, the more resources you can gather and use, creating a more sustainable land operation.

All of this such information is what I get from the Land: The Secret of Praetoria. They have survey and details of such mechanics of the land.

My recommendations for those just getting started

As I mentioned before, I recommend Common for cheap yet useful and profitable. Choosing plots with resource rich terrains, like Forest or Mountain plots, allows beginners to gather useful resources like wood, herbs, or minerals, which are crucial for crafting items and enhancing gameplay. Forest plots are great for collecting wood (useful for crafting structures) and herbs, while mountain plots can yield valuable minerals. Starting with a common plot in these terrains provides beginners with a steady, reliable resource base.

The Splinterlands marketplace often has land plots on sale, and beginners should take advantage of these deals. New players may find affordable options that give them access to a slightly rarer plot or a better terrain type without stretching their budget. Monitoring the marketplace for affordable rare or valuable terrain types allows beginners to start with better assets, setting them up for a more successful and productive land ownership experience.
