¡Hola amantes de las costuras! Feliz comienzo de semana y feliz lunes de agujas, le deseo una semana muy productiva. La semana pasada estuve trabajando en el pedido más grande que me han hecho hasta ahora, estoy muy feliz por la oportunidad de poder vivir está experiencia, @ashleyjaramillog me escribió hace unos días para hacer unos crop tops para su grupo de baile, ella es instructora de salsa, bachata y otros tipos de baile y es muy buena en lo que hace 🥰 acordamos el modelo y la tela con la que íbamos a trabajar y así comenzó todo, les voy a compartir algunas fotos del proceso mientras les cuento cómo me fué.

Hello stitching lovers! Happy start of the week and happy needle Monday, I wish you a very productive week. Last week I was working on the biggest order I've had so far, I'm very happy for the opportunity to live this experience, @ashleyjaramillog wrote me a few days ago to make some crop tops for her dance group, she is a salsa, bachata and other types of dance instructor and is very good at what she does 🥰 we agreed on the model and the fabric we were going to work with and so it all began, I'll share some pictures of the process while I tell you how it went.

La tela que utilicé para este proyecto se llama Crepé Lurex y la conseguí en el castillo, Ashley me dijo que quería específicamente un morado oscuro pero cuando llegué a la tienda no había de este color 😥 le pregunté a una encargada y afortunadamente tenían en el depósito, lo que no sabía es que me iba faltar tela y que la tela se iba a agotar, me faltaba una manga de un top y un top completo, visité varias tiendas de telas en Caracas y dos sucursales del castillo y nada, se había agotado 😩 pude resolver con una tela en color azul oscuro, pero estás son experiencias que nos dejan aprendizajes, la primera compra suficiente tela no importa que sobre y la segunda que me pasó fué que saque los top un poco grandes y ya les explico por qué.

The fabric I used for this project is called Crepe Lurex and I got it at the castle, Ashley told me she specifically wanted a dark purple but when I got to the store they didn't have this color 😥 I asked a manager and fortunately they had in stock, what I didn't know is that I was going to be short of fabric and that the fabric was going to run out, I was missing a sleeve of a top and a complete top, I visited several fabric stores in Caracas and two branches of the castle and nothing, it was sold out 😩 I could solve with a dark blue fabric, but these are experiences that leave us learnings, the first purchase enough fabric no matter what and the second that happened to me was that I took out the tops a little big and I'll explain why.

Está tela es bastante sthech se parece mucho a la licra pero con mucha más textura en la parte inferior, lo que me pasó fué que estaba sacando las tallas muy grandes, se supone que al tratarse de una tela que estira debemos quitar unos cuantos centímetros para que la pieza quede ajustada al cuerpo, o eso pensé yo, sí estoy equivocada o sí saben más al respecto déjenme saber en los comentarios, así que perdí mucha tela con este error, el día miércoles hicimos una prueba con las chicas y los tops estaban muy grandes, esto fué doble trabajo porque tuve que descoser lo que ya tenía hecho, también cuando me dí cuenta que me iba a faltar tela ya era muy tarde, por que como les dije la tela se agotó, tenía que haber ido al día siguiente pero ya había pasado mucho tiempo y tuve que comprar una color azul, en total eran 10 crop tops pero terminé haciendo 11 para reponer el que le faltaba la manga, ese lo terminé empatando la manga, igual así le hice otro a la chica por sí no le gustaba este defecto pues era mi culpa y no quería entregar un producto mal hecho.

This fabric is quite sthech is very similar to lycra but with much more texture at the bottom, what happened to me was that I was taking the sizes too big, it is assumed that being a fabric that stretches we must remove a few inches for the piece to fit the body, or so I thought, if I'm wrong or if you know more about it let me know in the comments, so I lost a lot of fabric with this mistake, on Wednesday we did a test with the girls and the tops were very large, this was double work because I had to unpick what I had already made, also when I realized that I was going to miss fabric it was too late, because as I told you the fabric was sold out, I should have gone the next day but it had already been a long time and I had to buy a blue color, in total there were 10 crop tops but I ended up making 11 to replace the one that was missing the sleeve, I ended up tying the sleeve, so I made another one to the girl just in case she did not like this defect because it was my fault and I did not want to deliver a poorly made product.

Después de bastante trabajo pude terminar todo y lo empaque en bolsitas transparentes con los tops envueltos en papel de seda con una notita con el nombre de cada chica, tengo que mejorar los empaques sí, 🙌 ¿me siento satisfecha con el trabajo? Sí, ¿puedo ser mejor? Sí, siempre podemos mejorar y remendar errores, en la costura estamos en constante aprendizaje esto es una arte que evoluciona constantemente y eso me encanta, estoy muy agradecida con Ashley por brindarme está oportunidad. After quite a lot of work I was able to finish everything and I packed it all in little clear bags with the tops wrapped in tissue paper with a little note with each girl's name, I have to improve the packaging yes, 🙌 do I feel satisfied with the work? Yes, can I be better? Yes, we can always improve and mend mistakes, in sewing we are constantly learning, this is an art that is constantly evolving and I love that, I am very grateful to Ashley for giving me this opportunity.
