WHICH IS IRREPLACEABLE (A World Unveiled)

I really cannot imagine a world without music and my reason is very obvious.

Music is a magical journey through time. It's been our faithful companion for centuries, mirroring the evolution of our cultures and emotions. But don't get me wrong; movies are fantastic too. They tell stories in a unique way, taking us on unforgettable journeys through our imagination. Yet, if I had to choose, I'd save music, for it's the heartbeat of our world, a bridge across cultures, and the rhythm of our lives.

I would have sworn this prompt came just in time for me. Because it was just a month and few weeks now I got news that my sister lost her husband who traveled to Turkey for Business purpose. It was a very heart wrenching moment and I was very devastated. I remember vividly how she cried on the phone while sharing such terrible news. I have never heard her cry so much; it was a bitter and ugly wail. To be a widow at 33 with two very young daughters. Truthfully, I felt her pain and I tried as much as I could to be that comfort to her even over the phone. During that week, honestly, I could not feel myself anymore; I felt numb, bitter and I sobbed all day long. My big sis; a widow in her early 30’s. A Widow. I knew I needed a solution to my deteriorating mood, so I opted for music to sooth myself. And truthfully, it worked like magic. I really don’t know how to explain how it worked, but it did. Honestly. Like magic. And that is one of many concrete reasons I will forever stick with music (I die here o!)

Honestly, music is therapeutic and I can’t imagine being born in an alternate world where music do not exist. Hmm… come to think of it; Imagine Nigeria without music to calm us down in this economic crisis, LOL, you know what will happen. Mad o!

He was able to use music to express his emotions and opinions on life, which would have been close to impossible to leave a mark on earth without music. And that is still the case in Nigeria today (have you listened to “Monster” by Burna boy featuring Chris Martin? It’s a powerful song which I must recommend you should listen to.)

Fela wasn't just a musician; he was a warrior of sound. His album "Zombie" took a direct jab at the military, sparking a confrontation with the government that's now etched in history. Now, Musicians like Femi Kuti (Fela's son), Burna Boy and Wizkid, just to name a few, carried the Afrobeat torch globally, sharing its unique blend of rhythms and the spirit of resistance.

Music also provides many more benefits to an individual. Such as: Stress reduction, Emotional expression, Entertainment, social bonding, cultural identity, communication… the list is endless. Plus, it also has educational benefits too.

Apart from all that, it was proven that music was able to suppress kleptomania… yes, you read that correctly. Music is able to keep most unemployed occupied preventing them from crafting malicious thoughts. Just close your eyes and imagine Lagos state without music, Agbero go plenty ehn!
Should we talk about the financial break though with less capital which movies cannot even compete with after being shot and produced with millions of naira. (have you seen Olamide and Asake? Have you read their biography?)

Fun fact: Movies would not be complete without music.

When I actually think it through, I believe music is one of the best gift to mankind and will forever remain irreplaceable.
