La semana pasada fue el acto de grado de mi hijo Jeremías, sentí que los días pasaron volando. Habíamos hecho algunas diligencias previas para lo del uniforme y todo el protocolo del evento, quizás por eso no me dio mucho chance para asimilar todo lo que estaba pasando y lo que estaba por venir.

Last week was the graduation ceremony of my son Jeremías, I felt that the days flew by. We had done some errands beforehand for the uniform and all the protocol of the event, maybe that's why I didn't have much time to assimilate everything that was happening and what was to come.

La mayor sorpresa de todas, sin pensarlo que iban a continuar, es que mi hijo era el que le tocaba dar las palabras de inicio para solicitar el permiso a la directora para entregar los títulos. El aviso fue la noche anterior y en pocas horas tuvimos que prepararlo para tan tamaña responsabilidad.

The biggest surprise of all, without thinking that they were going to continue, was that my son was the one who had to give the opening remarks to request permission from the director to deliver the titles. The notice was the night before and in a few hours we had to prepare him for such a huge responsibility.

Al llegar, ver a tantos angelitos juntos, vestidos con sus uniformes y sus gorros llenos de colores, solo queda llenarse de ternura y disfrutar todo lo que estaba por venir. Su inocencia, preguntándose en qué escuelas iban a estudiar en el futuro próximo, algunas alegrías espontáneas por enterarse de que la mayoría continuaran en la misma institución y algunos otros lamentándose por no continuar cerca, me hizo recordar mucho cuando también estuve en el lugar de ellos.

Upon arrival, seeing so many little angels together, dressed in their uniforms and colorful caps, one can only be filled with tenderness and enjoy all that was to come. Their innocence, wondering in which schools they were going to study in the near future, some spontaneous joy at learning that most of them would continue in the same institution and some others regretting not to continue nearby, made me remember a lot when I was also in their place.

La ocasión también fue propicia para compartir con algunos de los otros representantes, verlos a la cara y conversar sobre las expectativas de los próximos años. También para conocerse un poco e intercambiar contactos, para nadie es un secreto que los padres de los estudiantes poco se comunican entre sí, puesto que cada familia está con sus trabajos, obligaciones y a veces no da el tiempo para interactuar.

The occasion was also an opportunity to share with some of the other representatives, to see their faces and talk about the expectations for the coming years. It was also an opportunity to get to know each other and exchange contacts. It is no secret that the parents of the students do not communicate much with each other, since each family has its own work and obligations and sometimes there is not enough time to interact.

Siento que los años pasaron muy rápido, hace poquito lo estábamos inscribiendo en un maternal, iba a significar su ingreso en el sistema educativo. Ahora, alzando su primera meta importante en este ámbito y con honores, hace que la vena de padre y el orgullo crezca de forma exponencial por ser parte de los pasos que este pequeño gigante da en los inicios de su maravillosa y abundante vida.

I feel that the years went by very fast, just a little while ago we were enrolling him in a kindergarten, it was going to mean his entry into the educational system. Now, raising his first important goal in this field and with honors, makes the father's vein and pride grow exponentially for being part of the steps that this little giant takes in the beginning of his wonderful and abundant life.

La educación en el país ha decaído un poco, el sistema cada vez ahoga más a los trabajadores, sin embargo, todavía puedes encontrar un grupo de educadores y trabajadores que se entregan con mucha mística y entrega para que estos niños puedan salir lo mejor preparado posible a pesar de que su remuneración no es nada acorde con el trabajo que desempeñan.

Education in the country has declined somewhat, the system is increasingly stifling workers, however, you can still find a group of educators and workers who give their all with a lot of mysticism and dedication so that these children can leave as well prepared as possible despite the fact that their remuneration is not at all commensurate with the work they do.

Cada vez, la responsabilidad de los padres, madres y representantes crece sin parar. Desde siempre la responsabilidad ha sido dual, desde casa y desde la escuela, pero ahora mismo la balanza se inclina para que las familias dentro de sus hogares tomen un rol principal para educar a nuestros niños.

Como padre estoy dispuesto a dar ese extra, por mi hijo Jeremías, por este gran regalo que la naturaleza puso en mis manos. Deseando que la abundancia, la luz y la alegría continúen en nuestro camino para seguir alcanzando metes juntos.

Each time, the responsibility of fathers, mothers and representatives is growing steadily. The responsibility has always been dual, from home and school, but now the balance is tipping towards families taking a leading role in educating our children at home.

As a father I am willing to give that extra, for my son Jeremiah, for this great gift that nature put in my hands. Wishing that abundance, light and joy continue on our path to continue reaching goals together.
