Greetings Ladies I hope you have a great day, I am pleased to participate in the contest # 93 of the Ladies of Hive community to answer the question, I invite @chacald.dcymt to participate
When did you begin to see attitudes towards women changing in your life, and what do you think prompted those changes? Please give some examples.
Women throughout history have always seen how limits or differential treatment have been imposed if it is a woman, many of us did not notice many things that were wrong at the time because the upbringing was very different, however I have the The happiness of coming from a family of many women and therefore we were always the majority and in everyday things we did not experience differences between us, we divided the housework, we are 10 children, 7 women and only 3 men, being women we learned the tasks of the field just like the men, we went to the goat pen, we milked the goats to obtain the milk, we made cheese in an artisanal way, we grazed the animals and we also swept the pen to collect the fertilizer, we lost my mother when we I was an adult but my sisters were still young, they have always been working women, some of them even worked as laborers in fields, they came to the city and worked as vendors. teachers, caregivers and domestics, some studied, I have sisters who have traveled by car, bicycle or motorcycle throughout the city very independently, however, my younger sisters are the ones who, after not having my mother and the older ones we lived in the city they had no gender limits.
On the other hand, older daughters like me do experience the consequences of machismo in parenting, my immediately older sister and I couldn't study beyond primary school, she was in a village far from ours but we could still walk and go to study , but the secondary school was in the town several kilometers from our house, I wanted to study secondary school once I finished primary school, but my father opposed it, he had the idea that the girls who went to study in the town ended up falling in love and getting pregnant or running away from home, that is, for my father women should be at home away from the men of the town because studying was "an excuse" to end up involved with men, as I was a very shy girl and fearful of my father I could never oppose him so I did not dare to face him, fortunately my older sister after a while got married and went to the city and when she had children I moved to the city to help him take care of the children.
As you can read, there were many limitations that I had as a woman at that time, I couldn't just leave the house to the city alone, so I am grateful that my sister offered me to move in with her, for my older brother who was a man there were never those limits, he didn't study because he didn't want to study, my dad never hindered him from going to town or interacting with people, in fact he never challenged him for his behavior, they never punished him for his behavior as a rebellious child, the girls in In exchange, he did not let us study, my father was always the breadwinner and that is why my mother had to stay at home, I think that for him that was the only way of life because it was what they taught and therefore what he taught his children .
When I got married and had my daughters, I always helped them with their studies, I was always there for them, so that they never felt limits to study or learn what they wanted, I helped them with their homework as much as I could, I taught them to read and prepare for their exams and presentations at school, but there came a point when they were independent in their studies, they did all their things alone and had great grades, for me it is a great pride that my daughters @mayoly1 and @irenenavarroart have university studies, because I never wanted them to go through what I went through, I think the world has changed for the benefit of women today and that makes me very happy, life in the countryside is very different from the cities, that's why I'm glad every time I know of women who come from the countryside who leave there to study or work without any impediment.
