Review: Hocus Pocus (1993) | I put a spell on you! [ENG - ESP]
¡Saludos, cinefilos! Ha pasado un tiempo desde la última vez que compartí algo por aquí, pero luego de un largo hiatus me siento con mucha energía para empezar de nuevo y no puedo esperar a leer sus publicaciones y también a que ustedes lean las mías, sobre todo en esta comunidad de Cine y TV que me gusta mucho ya que soy amante de las series y películas. En esta ocasión les vengo a compartir una reseña de una película que se que traerá nostalgia a más de una persona.
No hay nada como las clásicas películas de Disney, a pesar de que las actuales tengan muchas enseñanzas e infinidad de temas a tratar, los de la vieja escuela sabemos lo buenas y nostálgicas que son aquellas que salieron en los 90 y los 2000.
Por aquel entonces las restricciones de contenido no eran tan estrictas y el doble sentido no podía faltar en los chistes recurrentes de cada film pero no eran lo suficientemente escandalosos como para corromper las mentes jóvenes de los niños que disfrutaban esas películas. Simplemente no entendíamos algunos comentarios pero no nos quitaba el entretenimiento de la misma.
Dándome un paseo por Disney+, aquella plataforma online que recopila las creaciones televisivas y cinematográficas de la misma empresa me encontré con una cinta que me llevó de vuelta a las noches de halloween pasados, la mismísima Abracadabra y pensé ¿por que no la vuelvo a ver y también hago una reseña?
A continuación, les dejaré mi humilde opinión acerca de una de mis películas favoritas de todo Disney. Siéntase a gusto de tomarse su tiempo de leer y opinar.

Greetings, movie lovers! It's been a while since I last shared something here, but after a long hiatus I feel with a lot of energy to start again and I can't wait to read your posts and also for you to read mine, especially in this Film and TV community that I like a lot since I love series and movies. This time I come to share with you a review of a movie that I know will bring nostalgia to more than one person.
There is nothing like the classic Disney movies, even though the current ones have many teachings and an infinite number of themes to deal with, those of us old school know how good and nostalgic are those that came out in the 90s and 2000s.
Back then the content restrictions were not so strict and the double entendre could not be missing in the recurring jokes of each film but they were not outrageous enough to corrupt the young minds of the kids who enjoyed those movies. We just didn't understand some of the comments but it didn't take away from the entertainment of it.
Taking a stroll through Disney+, that online platform that compiles the television and film creations of the same company I came across a tape that took me back to halloween nights past, the very same Abracadabra and I thought why don't I watch it again and also do a review?
Below, I'll leave you with my humble opinion about one of my favorite films in all of Disney. Feel free to take your time to read and give your opinion.

Esta película de 1993 nos cuenta la historia de Max Dennison, un recién llegado de Los Ángeles al misterioso y supersticioso pueblo de Salem (si, el mismo sitio famoso por el juicio de brujas hace muchos siglos) donde conocerá la leyenda de las hermanas Sanderson, unas brujas que fueron ejecutadas luego de sus crímenes y que juraron regresar en la noche de Halloween cuando algún joven virgen encienda la vela negra encantada de lo que era su hogar.
Max es un claro no creyente de lo paranormal y piensa que todo es absurdo, mientras que la gente de la Salem y su hermanita Dani si disfrutan de las leyendas, incluyendo la chica que le gusta Allison.
¿Adivinen quien es el virgen que por bromear y no creer termina reviviendo a las brujas? Pues obvio, Max. Ahora el muy valiente debe enfrentarse a tres mujeres despiadadas que amenazan con lastimar a su hermana menor y a todos los niños de Salem.
This 1993 film tells the story of Max Dennison, a newcomer from Los Angeles to the mysterious and superstitious town of Salem (yes, the same place famous for the witch trials many centuries ago) where he learns the legend of the Sanderson sisters, witches who were executed after their crimes and vowed to return on Halloween night when some young virgin lights the enchanted black candle in what was their home.
Max is a clear non-believer in the paranormal and thinks it's all absurd, while the people of Salem and his little sister Dani do enjoy the legends, including the girl he likes, Allison.
Guess who is the virgin who for joking and not believing ends up reviving the witches? Well, Max, of course. Now the very brave one must face three ruthless women who threaten to hurt his younger sister and all the children of Salem.

Max Dennison
El protagonista y no creyente de leyendas paranormales, piensa que el Halloween es un chiste y no le gusta vivir en Salem. Quiere regresar a su vida en Los Ángeles y no tiene paciencia con su hermanita Dani. Le gusta una chica llamada Allison. Cabe destacar que este personaje y el actor fueron el crush de más de una adolescente en su momento (perdón pero me incluyo).
The protagonist and non-believer in paranormal legends, thinks Halloween is a joke and doesn't like living in Salem. He wants to return to his life in Los Angeles and has no patience for his little sister Dani. He likes a girl named Allison. It should be noted that this character and the actor were the crush of more than one teenage girl at the time (sorry but I include myself).

Es el interés amoroso de Max y una chica creyente de las leyendas, es perspicaz y valiente. Es un personaje muy agradable que actúa como una adolescente muy común y que te caería bien si fuera tu compañera de clases.
She is Max's love interest and a girl who is a believer in legends, she is insightful and brave. She is a very likable character who acts like a very average teenage girl and you would like her if she were your classmate.

Dani Dennison
La hermanita de Max, es por supuesto, una niña juguetona que le encanta el Halloween y pasar tiempo con su hermano. No es una niña ingenua ni temerosa, y le gusta hacer comentarios sarcasticos aqui y allá, probablemente te recuerde a tus hermanitos. Por más que le atormente la vida igual quiere a Max.
Max's little sister, is of course, a playful little girl who loves Halloween and spending time with her brother. She's not a naive or fearful child, and she likes to make sarcastic comments here and there, probably reminding you of your little brothers. As much as she is tormented by life, she still loves Max.

Las hermanas Sanderson | The Sanderson Sisters
Tenemos a Winifred, la mayor y la líder del grupo, es mandona y se enoja con facilidad. No tiene nada de paciencia y tiene amplio conocimiento en magia negra, es la dueña del libro de encantamientos que usa para hacer sus pociones y hechizos.
We have Winifred, the eldest and leader of the group, she is bossy and easily angered. She has no patience at all and has extensive knowledge in black magic, she is the owner of the book of incantations that she uses to make her potions and spells.

Luego está Mary, es pasiva y hace todo lo que su hermana mayor dice más que todo porque le tiene miedo pero también porque la admira. Su talento es rastrear niños y siempre discute con Sarah.
Then there is Mary, she is passive and does everything her older sister says mostly because she is afraid of her but also because she admires her. Her talent is tracking children and she always argues with Sarah.

La última es Sarah, es increíblemente distraída y se interesa demasiado por los hombres haciendo de su personaje uno muy coqueto. Su habilidad es atraer niños con su canto, de resto no hace mucho en especial salvo olvidarse de las cosas y juguetear con lo que encuentra.
The last one is Sarah, she is incredibly absent-minded and is very interested in men making her character really flirty. Her ability is to attract children with her singing, otherwise she doesn't do much special except forget things and play with whatever she finds.

¿Por que me gusta esta película? | Why do I like this movie?
Conforme la vamos viendo, nos damos cuenta de que el cliché como tal no existe salvo por el típico chico no creyente que al final si cree luego de vivirlo. Pero en realidad, todo lo demás es muy refrescante, no hay que analizarla en profundidad porque todo esta ahí muy obvio.
Ninguno me pareció un personaje insufrible ni de relleno porque todos aportaba a la historia. Todos tienen algo que te hace disfrutar viéndolos en pantalla, Max es atrevido, Dani es demasiado honesta y Allison es inteligente y juntos son aún mejor. También es muy cómico ver a tres mujeres de hace 300 años enfrentarse a la era moderna.
No hay escenas incómodas ni extrañas, no hay actuación de cartón ni diálogos fuera de lugar. No hay la escena de "vamos a descubrir el origen del mal y encontrar como podemos acabarlo sin pelear", toda la película es un total sálvese quien pueda y a pelear se ha dicho que hay que sobrevivir.
As we watch it, we realize that the cliché as such does not exist, except for the typical non-believer who finally believes after living it. But in reality, everything else is very refreshing, there is no need to analyze it in depth because everything is so obvious.
I didn't find any of the characters insufferable or filler because they all contributed to the story. They all have something that makes you enjoy watching them on screen, Max is sassy, Dani is too honest and Allison is smart and together they are even better. It's also very comical to see three women from 300 years ago take on the modern era.
There are no awkward or strange scenes, no cardboard acting or out of place dialogues. There is no "let's discover the origin of evil and find out how we can end it without fighting" scene, the whole movie is a total every man for himself and fight has been said to survive.

Las brujas son exactamente eso, no son mujeres incomprendidas ni almas pérdidas, son un trío de mujeres de hace 300 años contra el siglo XX que buscan lo mismo que antes la inmortalidad, son cómicas y sus personalidades son muy remarcadas, son fácilmente diferenciables pero no pueden estar separadas y de una forma u otra se meten en cada lío.
Cada momento de la película es entretenido, los chistes recurrentes normales y los subidos de tono que en su momento nadie entendía pero que ahora si y solo me hacen reír aún más pero tampoco hacen que la historia sea inapropiada, es simplemente de que si los entiendes pues bien y si no pues bien también porque la historia no gira alrededor de estos chistes.
Y no podemos olvidar un excelente número musical que marcó más de una infancia, aún me se la letra de "I put a spell on you" que le agrega al toque final a todos los buenos elementos de esta gran película.
No puedes no querer a algún personaje, todos son excelentes y sin duda alguna pasarás un buen rato en la hora que dura este filme.
The witches are exactly that, they are not misunderstood women or lost souls, they are a trio of women from 300 years ago versus the 20th century who seek the same thing as before immortality, they are comical and their personalities are very remarked, they are easily distinguishable but cannot be separated and one way or another they get into every mess.
Every moment of the film is entertaining, the normal recurring jokes and the off-color ones that at the time nobody understood but now I do and they just make me laugh even more but they don't make the story inappropriate either, it's simply that if you understand them then fine and if not then fine too because the story doesn't revolve around these jokes.
And we cannot forget an excellent musical number that marked more than one childhood, I still know the lyrics of "I put a spell on you" that adds the final touch to all the good elements of this great movie.
You can't not love any character, all of them are excellent and without a doubt you will have a great time in the hour that this film lasts.

¿Que más puedo agregar? Me encanta esta película, soy fan de los clásicos y se las recomiendo si aún no la han visto.
Recientemente salió la segunda película de Abracadabra, decidí verla y cuando lo haga compartiré mi opinión honesta acerca de esta segunda entrega.

Sin duda alguna un clásico que no pasa de moda, y tienes razón, no es la típica película con el mismo cliché de siempre, es graciosa, es entretenida y todos los personajes son geniales.
Precisamente, gigi esta pelicula nunca dejará de ser tan buena. Hoy en día es difícil encontrar películas tan entretenidas y bien hechas como esta.
