It is a blessing to be able to share my experiences in this community and I feel honored with the welcome I have received.

Today I am going to refer to a topic of crucial importance to me because I must adopt new strategies when thinking about how to spend my money, taking into account that my objectives have changed and now, in my condition as an emigrant, this budget is not only for me, but my family also occupies an important place in these expenses.

Once again I have to deal with a subject in which I must assume a new position with respect to what I was doing in my place of origin because money must have varied functions.

Several questions come to mind when I visit a market:

How to use the budget in such a way that I can meet my needs without falling into waste?
How do I prioritize my budget in such a way that I can afford to live in the best way and, at the same time, give monthly support to my family?
Should I limit myself in my tastes, stop doing what I like to do or combine ways of doing so that both can work out?

As you can understand my strategies have changed. But, it is possible to fulfill the essential things that allow me to live as well as possible and, at the same time help my relatives in Cuba.

From everything new in my life these are the things I have had to do to meet my overall budget for myself and my family, these are the things I have had to do so that my financial goals are not undermined by the temptation to spend:

• Plan in the month what I need to send as family support and what I need to spend on my personal interests.
• Prioritize the expenses of the family members I need to help. For this, I take into account: the purchasing power of each one, the most needy, when they have a birthday, if there is any medical need, etc.
• Prioritize my expenses, in order not to fall into unnecessary consumption, so that I can make a rational use of the budget.
• Adjust my budget to my personal and family needs.

On the contrary, it means that, besides having to help my siblings and close relatives, I will be able to have a better life than the one I had in my country of origin.

In the end, I consider that both objectives can coincide and achieve that, when I make my household budget, I can fulfill all levels of help; both personal and family.

Es una bendición poder contar mis experiencias en esta comunidad y me siento honrada con la acogida que me han dado.

Hoy voy a referirme a un tema de importancia crucial para mí porque debo adoptar nuevas estrategias a la hora de pensar en cómo gastar mi dinero teniendo en cuenta que mis objetivos cambiaron y ahora, en mi condición de emigrante este presupuesto no es sólo para mí, sino que, mi familia también ocupa un lugar importante en estos gastos.

Nuevamente debo tratar un tema en la que debo asumir una nueva postura respecto a lo que venía haciendo en mi lugar de origen porque el dinero debe tener funciones variadas.

Varias preguntas vienen a mi mente cuando visito un mercado:

¿Cómo utilizar el presupuesto de manera que pueda satisfacer mis necesidades sin caer en el derroche?
¿Cómo concebir las prioridades de mi presupuesto de manera que pueda alcanzar para vivir de la mejor manera y, a la vez darle la ayuda mensual a mi familia?
¿Debo limitarme en mis gustos, dejar de hacer lo que gusta o combinar maneras de hacer para que ambas cosas puedan salir?

Como pueden entender mis estrategias cambiaron. Pero, es posible cumplir con las cosas esenciales que me permitan vivir lo mejor posible y, a la vez ayudar a mis familiares en Cuba.

A partir de todo lo nuevo en mi vida estas son las cosas que he tenido que hacer para cumplir con mi presupuesto global en función mía y de mi familia, estas son de las cosas que he tenido que hacer para que mis objetivos financieros no se vean socavados por la tentación de gastar:

•Planificar en el mes lo que debo enviar como ayuda familiar y lo que necesito gastar en mis intereses personales.
•Priorizar los gastos de los miembros de la familia que debo ayudar. Para esto tengo en cuenta: Nivel adquisitivo de cada uno, los más necesitados, cuándo cumplen años, si hay alguna necesidad médica, etc.
•Priorizar mis gastos, para no caer en consumos innecesarios, de manera que pueda hacer un uso racional del presupuesto.
•Ajustar mi presupuesto a las necesidades personales y familiares.

Lo anterior no implica dejar de tener calidad de vida, por el contrario, significa que, además de tener que ayudar a mis hermanos y familiares allegados darme una vida mejor que la que tenía en mi país de origen.

Al final, considero que ambos objetivos pueden coincidir y lograr que, cuando haga mi presupuesto doméstico pueda cumplir con todos los niveles de ayuda; tanto personal como familiar.
