Yo me siento muy feliz por la ilustración que realicé esta semana para el concurso de Splinterlands, y es que es un personaje sobre el que he tenido el ojo desde hace semanas atrás, pero no tenía claro como dibujarlo, hasta que se me ocurrió hacerlo como un contorsionista, estoy hablando de Twisted Jester, desde que tuve la idea clara comencé a dibujar y me sentí de maravilla el personaje, a quien creo logré darle su característica personalidad retorcida, mostraré un poco del proceso de ilustración del personaje espero me acompañen y sea de su agrado.

I feel very happy for the illustration that I made this week for the Splinterlands contest, and is that it is a character on which I have had my eye for weeks ago, but ntenía clear or how to draw it, until I mocurrióio do it as a contortionist, I'm talking about Twisted Jester, since I had the clear idea began to draw and I felt wonderful the character, who I think I managed to give his characteristic twisted personality, I will show a little of the process of illustrating the character I hope you join me and is to your liking.

Twisted Jester a pesar de su colorido y divertido atuendo no es para nada un ser que aporta alegría, se trata del Capitán de Guardia del Señor de las Tiniebla y quién además fue el artífice de la matanza de toda su familia, al saber de este pasado y de su actual profesión quise que pareciese un personaje muy oscuro, pero que esconde toda su maldad detrás de una eterna sonrisa que lo hace aún más espeluznante.

Primero comencé a hacer el dibujo para ellos tomé referencias de la siguiente imagen la cuál muestra a una contorsionista, dibujé la estructura de su cuerpo y posteriormente dibuje el traje de bufón, la verdad pensaba que me sería complicado por la cantidad de pliegues de esta prenda; y por último dibujé las lineas de mi dibujo con todos los detalles para comenzar a colorear.

Twisted Jester in spite of his colorful and funny attire is not at all a being that brings joy, he is the Captain of Guard of the Lord of the Darkness and who also was the architect of the slaughter of his entire family, knowing this past and his current profession I wanted him to look like a very dark character, but he hides all his evil behind an eternal smile that makes him even more creepy.

First I started to make the drawing for them I took references from the following image which shows a contortionist, I drew the structure of her body and then I drew the jester costume, the truth I thought it would be complicated because of the amount of folds of this garment; and finally I drew the lines of my drawing with all the details to start coloring.

Luego procedí a colorear todo el fondo de un tono grisaceo oscuro, y comencé a colorear todo el color base de mi personaje, para la piel un tono palido de piel, y el resto de colores los tomé directamente del personaje original.

I then proceeded to color the whole background a dark grayish tone, and started coloring the whole base color of my character, for the skin a pale skin tone, and the rest of the colors I took directly from the original character.

A continuación comencé a darle volumen al rostro, comencé colocando los tonos más oscuros en el lado derecho de su rostro, comencé también agregando dos grandes manchas oscuras sobre su rostro, parte del maquillaje de bufón, luego continúe con su amplia sonrisa la cual fue rasgada de oreja a oreja, coloqué también unos puntos de sutura al lado y lado, decidí usar un tono intenso de rojo lo que hace pensar que las heridas aún están frescas.

Next I began to give volume to the face, I started by placing the darkest tones on the right side of her face, I also started adding two large dark spots on her face, part of the jester makeup, then I continued with her wide smile which was torn from ear to ear, I also placed some stitches on the side and side, I decided to use an intense shade of red which makes you think that the wounds are still fresh.

Intensifiqué las luces usando blanco en las zonas más luminosas del rostro, agregué también algunos colores reflejo en las zonas oscuras del rostro, predominantemente rojas por se el color más cercano a el, aunque también hice algunas en morado.

Luego comencé a colorear el traje, agregando en primer lugar las luces, solo pintando grandes manchones de color para ubicar más o menos la luz y las sombras del personaje.

I intensified the lights using white in the brightest areas of the face, I also added some reflection colors in the dark areas of the face, predominantly red because it was the closest color to it, although I also did some in purple.

Then I started to color the costume, adding first the lights, just painting big spots of color to place more or less the light and shadows of the character.

Aunque en un principio me sentía algo perdida y que no sabría exactamente como colorear mi personaje, tomé en cuenta la iluminación del personaje de referencia y también de como lucen los pliegues de este tipo de telas y creo que resultó bastante bien al final, logré darle el brillo deseado a las prendas de mi arlequín.

Luego comencé a colorear el fondo, el cual tampoco tenía muy claro, así que solo comencé a pintar uno cuantos telones rojos al fondo con detalles dorados, como si estuviera en medio de un espectáculo de horror.

Although at first I felt a bit lost and that I wouldn't know exactly how to color my character, I took into account the lighting of the reference character and also how the folds of this type of fabrics look like and I think it turned out pretty well in the end, I managed to give the desired brightness to the garments of my harlequin.

Then I started to color the background, which I didn't have very clear either, so I just started painting a few red backdrops in the background with golden details, as if I was in the middle of a horror show.

Bajo de sí, el suelo pulido del escenario cubierto por una gran mancha de sangre sobre la cual danza sin ningún problema, me encantó la frialdad de este personaje y estoy muy feliz de todas las decisiones que tome en la realización del mismo, creo que logré encarnar la personalidad del bufón, me agrada mucho este resultado, espero que también sea del agrado de todos.

Below, the polished floor of the stage covered by a large bloodstain on which he dances without any problem, I loved the coldness of this character and I am very happy with all the decisions I made in the realization of it, I think I managed to embody the personality of the jester, I am very pleased with this result, I hope it will also be to everyone's liking.
