Hello I hope you have an amazing week

I wanna show you something I've been meaning to do for a while now, but with all the stuff I had going on, I couldn't get to it earlier-.

The main idea for this is a mermaid who has found a pretty eye-catching coin. I've drawn a couple of mermaids before, well, I really enjoy drawing them. This is the first time I'm painting one like this; I mean, I rarely use "overlay" to completely paint a drawing.

I've sketched many mermaids, some of which I've finished, but others are still saved. When I heard about this design, I thought of different ways to do it, but I didn't decide until I was in the middle of another idea. I saw this old sketch that I had saved and thought it was perfect.

I'm still struggling with videos, so I've left some images of the process.

I sketched this drawing in my sketchbook, it wasn't very clear, but it would work for what I was going to do later on the PC. Well, even while I was in Ps, I finished the position of the arms because I hadn't done it before, but that's okay, these things can happen. But anyway, let's move on, there were some things to define.

As I was progressing, I was just detailing some things, well, I didn't choose that color for some reason, nothing specific since I could change it later. It's like working with shades of gray; I only used it to add some volume. It's subject to change. Although I still had some parts with the pencil sketch, little by little, it was getting erased.

I've practically erased what I had with the pencil, and things were more detailed. I also added the base for the mermaid's hair, which was a flat color that I would later work on with layer locking. I worked with 3 layers in this drawing, well, that's how it was until now. One for the background, one to edit practically the whole body except for the straight arm that was in front of the body, which would help me color the clothes later on.

Since the background was separated, I could easily edit what I wanted. I hadn't worked on the major details of the mermaid yet, but there were some advances in the body and face. I usually leave the face for last, but well, I had to give this girl a face, so I did something standard. I would fix it later.

As I progressed, things started changing, and the first thing I changed was the color I had used because it wasn't the one I wanted. Like I said, I just used it as a test. Besides that, I covered it with a flat color for what would be some seashells, covering her chest. So, I just needed to add more details there.

I really like this color combination, I've changed the hair color even though there's still some detailing left. But it's progress, and besides that, I've also added the shells and also placed some shine. I changed a few things in the thing. There were a few things left to do.
