Helheim Demon / Splinterlands Social Media Challenge
Good night friends!!!
Hello and warm greetings to all of you who are fans of the #Splinterlands game. I want to show you the drawing that I have created for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Theme: Rebellion!
Inspired by one of the rebellion demons, I created this drawing in Corel Painter and also used Ps for some additional touches. I use this combination because I'm still not very proficient in Corel, so I turn to Ps to do things that might be possible in Corel, but I'm not sure how. Just my quirky way of doing things.
When I was selecting cards to work on, I came across this demon, and it seemed quite interesting to me, so I thought, why not? One thing I haven't liked about the cards, it's not the card itself but that I can't see the complete design.😫😥
I've done some of the ones Splinterlands has shown, and also the lore, but I'm not sure if this card has already been published. Well, I'll find out what it does later, although at first glance, it doesn't look bad at all, quite interesting.
I made some slight changes to the character, mainly because since it was an inspiration, I didn't follow it too closely, but it still resembles it quite a bit. The essence, I believe, remains the same.
I started this drawing with a pretty quick sketch; I didn't define anything because I know those lines won't stay there, or I might make changes later, as always.
With the brush I usually use in Corel, I created a base with some colors related to the drawing. One thing I like about this brush is the texture it leaves, but sometimes it becomes a bit tricky to use. I need to understand it better.
The previous base wasn't bad, but it looked too bright for my taste. I was specifically looking for more texture, especially on the skin, so I made some changes while also adding more details.
To add the texture base I needed, I used various things, like some photos that I used to incorporate texture, as well as some previous drawings in which I did something and found that it worked for what I'm doing now. Of course, I didn't want an exaggerated texture, it was something that should be noticed just a bit.
There were some things, like the character's horns, that gave me a bit of trouble because I was trying to fit them in each time to make them look better. The base of the texture was already ready, and I was happy with it, I just had to integrate that.
So far, I practically hadn't done anything on the demon's face. When I was detailing everything, it was time to do something on the face. I made some slightly prominent teeth, made some changes, but nothing too drastic.
To finish, I kept changing the horns. Yes, the truth is I kept adjusting them. The texture was already fully integrated with the drawing because I went over it with the brush. I hadn't used textures in a while, but well, that detail isn't bad. I finished up some other things, added some light, and so on. Finally, it was ready.
