Emotional Journey annnnddddd Happo New Year 2024
Hello !!
I hope you've had good moments with your loved ones. I had a mini vacation, although I didn't actually go on vacation. I didn't use the computer or the phone (well, I hardly use the latter) during these days, dedicating them to my mother, sisters, and other relatives. Usually, I can't talk much with them because I'm always working, so these days I was able to share various family conversations and many laughs that I missed. I also talked to my dad, whom I miss because we've been somewhat distant for years, but thanks to technology, an occasional call is possible. I'm glad he's recovering well.
Certain things happened these days that made me think life is sometimes unpredictable hmmm today we are here, perhaps not tomorrow. Last year was quite tough, but despite the wounds from the challenging moments I went through, nevertheless, I gained some experience, learnings, and a bit more hope.
I had planned for the first post to give an account of what I did in 2023, but it would be quite long. This drawing is inspired by that before and after. One side represents the past year, somewhat marred by moments of suffering and challenges, but it is fading away. In contrast, 2024 winks and bets on positive emotions, healing those old wounds, and new attempts to have a better time.
I sincerely appreciate all the support provided during the past year. Each gesture of encouragement and collaboration has been essential for my growth and motivation. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed and has made a significant difference. I look forward to continuing to share moments together in this new year.
I wanted to make a sketch for this drawing, but I didn't finish it. However, I already had some lines that would work as a guide, although to be honest, I don't always follow them. It was a start.
Yes, I made some changes because I didn't like certain things. I also started with the base for the drawing. I didn't use grayscale, only some base colors that I would later blend with the skin.
With the chalk brush that I'm still using, I added a bit more, but it wasn't too intense since I did it on a layer above and lowered the opacity a bit. I don't usually do this, but I also didn't want to erase what I had done on the layer below.
The colors I was using for the skin were blending well with the base. At times, I used a bit of bleed, but not too much because I wanted to maintain some of the texture it had so far. I also improved and detailed some features a bit more.
There were a few things that still needed attention, like detailing the hair, the hat a bit more, and some other small things. One of the things I wanted to achieve in this portrait is the difference in the state of both sides; one side would be more "kept" than the other.
I wasn't far from finishing, but I still had to detail some things that I wasn't liking. Although the idea of a covered zombie wasn't bad, this time I didn't want it to look like a decaying corpse or something like that hmmm I had to improve that.
To finish, I worked a bit more on the humanity of the girl, so she wouldn't look like a zombie, just a girl with one side somewhat wounded by the previous situation. I also improved the lighting a bit and covered the breasts with a small corset.
Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.

So much beauty.... a smile that invites you to go on but with a strong look and saying here I am! On the other hand I see part of the woman fades away, maybe the year that is going away or things that have to be left behind to move forward, always forward.
Magnificent work!😍
