This is the tuna ceviche, this recipe is not complicated at all and in 5 minutes it is ready.
It is the flagship dish of Peru and several historical accounts tell that the natives of that area used to eat raw fish with salt and chili. It seems that this is the origin of this delicious recipe that gives us a rich fusion of colors at the table. Below, I show you how I prepared this dish:

Hola amigos amantes de las delicias alimentarias, a veces estamos un poco apurados y no sabemos que vamos a cocinar. Entonces tratamos de preparar algo lo más sencillo y rápido posible, pues hoy te traigo la receta justa para esa ocasión en la que estás contra reloj. Se trata del ceviche de atún, esta receta no es para nada complicada y en 5 minutos ya está lista.

Es el plato insignia de Perú y en varios relatos históricos cuentan que los aborígenes de esa zona acostumbraban a comer pescado crudo con sal y ají. Parece que de ahí surgió esta deliciosa receta que nos brinda una rica fusión de colores en la mesa. A continuación, te muestro como elaboré este platillo:

  • Canned tuna / Atún en lata
  • 1 tomato / 1 tomate
  • 1 chili bell pepper / 1 ají pimiento
  • 1 medium onion / 1 cebolla mediana
  • Juice of two lemons / Jugo de dos limones
  • Salt / sal

I started by chopping the bell pepper into strips and then cut it into small squares. Set aside in a bowl.

Comencé picando el pimiento en tiras para luego cortarlo en cuadritos pequeños. Reservar en un bol.

Then I chopped the sides of the tomato to chop them into small squares, I did not do it in slices because I did not want to use the center and that the seeds would not interfere.

Luego piqué los laterales del tomate para picarlos en pequeños cuadritos, no lo hice en rodajas porque no quería utilizar el centro y que las semillas no interfirieran.

Chop the onion, I also chopped it in squares so that everything had the same shape, but sliced it looks very good from the aesthetic point of view. It is recommended to use purple onion, but I used white onion, which is what I had at home. All this should be kept in a bowl.

Picar la cebolla, yo la piqué en cuadros también para que todo tuviera la misma forma, pero en lonjas se ve muy bien desde el punto de vista estético. Lo recomendable es utilizar cebolla morada, pero yo utilicé la blanca que es la que tenía en casa. Todo esto ir resguardando en un bol.

Shred the tuna for a better finish.

Desmenuzar el atún para un mejor acabado.

Add the juice of the two lemons to the tuna and mix so that everything is impregnated with the citric acid.Add a teaspoon of salt.

Agregar al atún el jugo de los dos limones y mezclar para que todo se impregne con el ácido cítrico. Añadir una cucharadita de sal.





Add the chopped vegetables to the tuna and stir until everything is well mixed.

Agregar las verduras picadas en el atún y revolver hasta que todo quede bien mezclado.





As you can see, our ceviche is ready, didn't I tell you that it only takes about 5 minutes. You can serve it with whatever you want, this time I am going to give you an idea of how I made it, so you can take note.

Como ven, ya está listo nuestro ceviche, no les dije que solo toma unos 5 minutos. Pueden acompañarlo con lo que deseen, en esta ocasión les voy a dar una idea de cómo yo lo hice, para que vayan tomando nota.

I took a loaf of bread and cut off the sides so that it was completely square (this is to make it look nicer) and put it in the air fryer to make some toast.

Tomé un pan y le piqué los laterales, de tal forma que me quedara totalmente cuadradito (esto es para que se viera más bonito) y lo puse en la freidora de aire para hacer unas tostadas.

When the tostadas were golden brown, I took them out and spread mayonnaise on the surface and then put a spoonful of the ceviche on top.

Cuando ya estaban doraditas las tostadas las saqué y unté mayonesa en la superficie y luego coloqué una cucharada del ceviche encima.



This way they were spectacular, combining the refreshing flavor of the ceviche with the mayonnaise, and they also had a good presentation and looked very appetizing.

De esta forma quedaron espectaculares, al combinar el refrescante sabor del ceviche con la mayonesa, además tenían una buena presentación y se veían muy apetecibles.
