Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Venari Knifer Becoming My Favorite Card

Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands social media challenge for this week. I will be writing about one of the battles I had this morning for this challenge.
I have not been playing the splinterlands game for long now but I must say I am loving it. I am still finding my way in the game which can be quite tough with the different rule sets and the tough battles. It is always a challenge to select the right cards for the battles. I am in the bronze III stage currently which is so much tougher than the novice stage.
For this particular battle, I used my account @yahuzah. It is my designated spl account.

I decided to go with the obsidian summoner because that is what I am quite okay with. Obviously, I still have a lot to learn with the obsidian summoner but it is the one I am better with. I have tried using TARSA summoner but I usually fail with that card. Another reason is that the mana was 99 and I had a lot of good options to choose from. Cards with huge health, good speed and high manas were chosen.

1st Position

Venari Knifer, the thorns card has a health of 7, speed of 4 and melee of 2. It is a card of 6 mana and when hit with a melee attack, does damage back to the attacker.

Round 1

I expected to attack first because my speed was more than my opponent’s. I did attack first and did a damage of 2. My opponent attacked me and did a damage of 1. My Venari Knifer did damage back to his card and reduced the health further. My opponent’s 5th card then attacked my Mycelin Slipspawn card because all enemy cards are expected to target this monster (if they are able to).

My Mycelin Slipspawn card did damage to the opponent’s first card and my Mycelin Slipspawn was again attacked by my opponent’s last card. My first card was then healed by my Goblin Psychic card and the Goblin Psychic did damage to the opponent’s first and killed it. The opponent’s second card took the lead and attacked my Venari Knifer. Damage was done back and my second card, Bramble Pixie attacked the opponent’s first and killed it.

Round 2

My Venari Knifer attacked but missed and my opponent’s new fist card. At this point, he had 4 cards left and all mine were still intact. His 3rd card attacked my Mycelin Slipshaw and did a damage of 2, while my Mycelin Slipshaw attacked his first and killed it. His new last monster attacked by taunt and killed it. My Goblin Psychic restored some of my Venari Knifer health and attacked my opponent’s first card.

My Bramble Pixie then attacked my opponent’s card which is thorns and the damage was done back to my Mycelin Slipspawn.

Round 3

My Venari Knifer attacked his thorns and a damage of 2 was done back. He attacked my thorns and missed and his second card attacked my last (Mycelin Infantry). His last then attacked my first and my Goblin Psychic restored some health. My Goblin Psychic did damage to his thorns and reduced the health to 2

Round 4

My Venari Knifer attacked my opponent’s thorns and killed it. At this point in the battle, my opponent had one monster left. My heal tank healed my thorns to health 5 and attacked my opponent’s thorns. My Bramble Pixie attacked my opponent’s thorns and reduced its health to 0. I killed his monster.

I finished this battle in 4 rounds. Only one of my monsters was killed.
