Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands battle mage secrets challenge for this week. I will be describing one of my battles. For this battle, I used my account @yahuzah which is my spl account for all battles.

Summoner chosen

For this battle, I chose the Qid Yuff summoner to grant all my monsters the piercing battle. I anticipated my enemy would bring monsters with shield so I wanted to use this summoner to inflict more damage.

Battle Tactics

Looking back now, I realize how much I overthought in this battle. I ended up choosing a very wrong lineup for the battle and paid a price.

In first position, I selected Venari Markstrat because his death would give my second monster +1 stats. Also, the close ranged ruleset would allow it to attack

I selected Grum Flameblade in second position. Aside its very low speed of 1, Grum Flameblade is a very powerful monster to use in battle. Its high melee coupled with the piercing from the summoner seemed like a good pick.

For the third position in my team, I selected Firecaller who has the matyr ability

For the fourth position, I selected Tenyii Striker which has the sneak ability.

In fifth position, I selected Halfling Alchemist which has the halving ability.

Battle Details

Summoner and unit buffs took effect and the battle began.

image.png

At the start of the first round, my enemy's fourth monster, Peacebringer killed my first monster and gave my second monster +1 stats. The third monster, Djinn Renova attacked my first and the last monster attacked as well.

My last monster attacked my enemy's last monster reducing its health to 2 and my enemy's fifth monster attacked my first monster twice taking my health to 8.

What I didn't want happened at the end of round 1 when my first monster, Grum Flameblade missed its attack. My last and second monsters attacked to end the first round

image.png

In round 2, the poison took effect killing my last monster and my enemy's first. Attacks from my enemy's monsters killed my Grum Flameblade and just looking at the remaining teams, I knew I had lost.

My enemy's last monster killed my monster leaving only Tenyii Striker.

Further attacks from my enemy's monsters killed my last monster resulting in me losing the battle.

Here is my battle link. Watch here how I took my enemy to battle and lost.

Baba, that was a very quick battle😂

It looks like you chose the summoner solely to give Grum an advantage. Unfortunately, your opponent didn’t even come with shields. But even if they did, I doubt the pierce would’ve done much. Only grum has enough attack power to take advantage of the pierce.

As for Grum missing his attack, that happens to me a lot too. His speed puts him at a huge disadvantaged chance of missing attacks. I normally put him behind a flank so that by the time he comes to the front, he would’ve buffed his speed to 2 or something higher so he doesn’t miss attacks.

I’m going to reblog this post so everyone will see your lost battle😂

😂😂 I don’t even know what I was thinking with this team. You know sometimes you have an idea in mind but once you see a card you love, you forget about your strategy😂. That’s one of the reasons I don’t like using the fire element 😂.

😂😂 I have so many of your battles I can reblog too bro

Yeah I get you completely. Sometimes I even end up going to battle with a completely stupid strategy because I started building my team around a certain card and later realize one particular card without which the team won’t work can’t be used either because of mana or ruleset. By the time I make this realization, I almost ran out of time, so I select whatever team comes to mind in that small seconds space and go to battle with them. This normally happens to me with the BattleMage Secrets Challenge. My mind is always so focused on “You might lose, don’t lose” that I panic and confuse myself on what team to use.😂😂😂

Boss, reblog the post. I don’t have shame.😂😂😂

😂😂 bro, this thing is not easy oo. Here I was thinking I was the only one overthinking. I was had a battle with a mana cost of 99 and I got so excited I ended up missing the battle 😂. I switch teams so much I didn’t even check the time 😂😂.

😂😂 you’ll find shame today
