Making Signing Up for Hive Seamless, Bridging The Gap With LeoInfra
We are on a mission to get as much active users as we can for hive and make hive the number one social media platform. One way to do this is to make the sign up process easy, fast and very understandable.
Leofinance is trying so hard to bridge the gap between web2 and web3 users and to make transitioning from web2 platforms like twitter to web3 like hive as seemless as possible.
In this regard, the leofinance has come up with ways by which web2 users can easily sign up for hive without having to through alot of stress. One of such ways is LeoInfra.
This is aimed at doing one ting and that is to allow users sign up and sign in easily via twitter or by using their google accounts. Although, this is not a 100% done or complete and still in the development or testing phase, it has a huge potential.
My first feedback is that when I tried to sign up create the account for my brother, the process was quite fast. The first thing I did was use the sign up link. After visiting this link, the leofinance sign up page loaded.
With 3 options to choose from, I clicked on Sign Up with Twitter.
Next, I entered my brother's name. He would have loved to use Ibrahim but that name has already been taken and so we opted for @sibdow. I then clicked on continue to proceed.
The next page or extension loaded and I was asked to enter the twitter details. I decided to use my details and so I keyed them in. I then clicked on sign in tp proceed to the next step.
I was then asked again to enter my details to sign into X but after I did, it appeared as error. I am guessing it's because twitter was already opened and so I closed it and tried again.
After closing twitter and re-entereing my details, I clicked on authorize app from the next pop up.
After I did, a message popped up indicating my brother's account was created.
The next page loaded and it already showed he was logged in to leofinance through LeoThreads and could thread.
I then searched for @sibdow with my own account and it appeared on threads.
Feedback
FIrst of all, the creation system with the twitter or X account was fast for me. It was quite easy, straightforward and not very technical. Anyone can create an account using LeoInfra because it is easy to understand.
Secondly and most important, I did not get the option to save my brother's keys. That was weird because when I first created my hive account, I had all my keys from the onset. These have allowed me to control my account and use it how I want, trusting that I am secure. But I guess it's still in the development phase.
We also couldn't edit the profile for my brother. I believe that is something that needs working on.
I believe with a few updates and tweaks, this will certainly improve the sign up process.
