WHAT I WANT TO BECOME...

When we were young and asked what we wanted to become in the future most of us were eager to say it while some of us didn’t even know well I knew what I wished to become in the future but I am not in the line at all.

I’ve always wished to be a veterinary doctor a profession where specialized doctors care for animals. This has always been my passion because of my interest in animals and also the first experience I had with my first pet.

I once had a chicken pet when I was so young and I developed a connection with my pet as it grew. Every day I spend hours playing with it and getting to know it better but unfortunately, I saw it dead in its cage after I came back from school. That was my first ever heartbreak because I hardly played with any other person or thing aside from my pet but I got over it with time.
So there was this day In my primary school when my teacher was teaching about animals and how to care for them and she said the person who cares for animals is called a veterinary doctor, that has stuck in my head since then, and whenever I’m asked what I want to become I tell them, veterinary doctor.

While in junior secondary we were asked to write an essay on what we wanted to become and when we were done doing that I was the only one who wrote about caring for animals. My teacher called me and asked why I’d love to care for animals and I told her, she encouraged and advised me saying the profession is nice but it’s not well known In my country(Nigeria).
I did my research about this profession and I was almost convinced she was right because I’ve seen people around me hardly care for their pets and pet shops and hospitals are so rare.
I accepted that it’s not a well-known profession in my country but what if I travel outside the country to practice the profession? time went by and my wish and passion to be a veterinarian almost died but I was able to adopt two dogs to care for.

Here I am studying computer science and also practicing a skill as a chef, funny right but trust me I still wish I was a veterinarian, and every chance I have to care for an animal I do my best.
