A huge and majestic blue serpent of Eld
Heya splinter fams,
Serpent of ELD
This week splinterland's weekly challenge theme is Serpent of Eld. Yes, there is something interesting to share about Serpent of Eld. I am battling in higher leagues so I got an opponent who used serpent of Eld in melee mayhem rule. When I saw its speed and melee attack I instantly fell for this card and rushed to buy it from the market. I already had this card but it was just level 4 I wanted it at max. At a maxed level, it has poison ability and poison ability is somewhat savage ability in any card.
I purchased maxed Serpent of Eld and was too happy that finally, my untamed army is growing up to perfection. Later when i checked splinterlands weekly challenge I was amazed to see @carrieallen chose serpent of Eld for this week. It was like she already knew that I am going to buy this card hehe :P XD kidding of course XD
Challenge post of this week is Here
More about Serpent of ELD
To be honest I didn't get this ELD name thing :P So I had to google that as this Eld stands for
😂. Google is the best source of information for the outdated people like me 😂 but Mr.google told me that Eld stands for old age. I sure know that it is not correct so I googled as Serpent of Eld
. So I got this Thorn of Eldraine
. If any of you know please do let me know in the comment section. It is a water rare element and Currently, it is trading at 0.049$/BCX.
Lore of Serpent of Eld
Once upon a time, Serpents were used to rule the jungles of Azamare and later they expelled out from the palace of ELD. Oh ELD is the name of the palace. I should have read this lore before what I wrote up there :P Anyways all is well. They retreated in the water and they considered themselves to be enemies of the souls of Azmare. Hmm, quite an interesting background of this water element this is why it has return fire and poison abilities.
Abilities
It has three abilities doge
, return fire
and poison
Dodge
Dodge
ability is one of the best abilities. It increases the almost 90% chances of evading ranged and melee attack.
Return fire
ability is quite an interesting one too. When it gets attacked my ranged attack monster it returns fire and gives 2 damage to an attacker.
Poison
Ok this ability affects if you are lucky enough yes. Poison ability doesn't work all the time. Or I guess I still need to understand in which circumstances it doesn't work. Anyways when it applies poison on the target then affected monster gets automatic damage at the beginning of each round.
My battle Using Serpent of Eld
Ruleset of the battle
I was given Unprotected
(Monster don't have any armour and don't get any armour from the abilities or summoner buffs) and Melee mayhem
(And melee attack monsters can attack from any position..) along with 44 Mana cap.
My opinion about this ruleset
Ok, I love melee mayhem rule but i don't like unprotected rule:P My Serpent of Eld lost its armours and also I could have used Kraken
in the first place instead of Lord Ailanthus. But since it was an unprotected rule I chose not to use Kraken.
My lineup
Since I was given 44 mana and I also knew about my opponent. Ts-yodin is an account of my friend. I knew that he will use legendary summoner though I don't have legendary summoners, I have Archmage Arius
. I decided to use Archmage Arius because of its summoner buffs.
Lord Arianthus
I used Lord Arianthus
in the first place. It is because of its magic reflect and thorn ability also it has shield ability so it gets less damage from the melee, ranged and magic attack.
PRISMATIC ENERGY
I used Level 8 PRISMATIC ENERGY in the second place. She does wonder in the second place so I always use her in the second place. My opponent didn't use such a monster that could get reflect damage from Lord Arianthus and Prismatic energy but still, she is the best because of her magic power and speed.
Dragon jumper
I used the Dragon jumper
in the third. This one is one of my favourite untamed monsters. I love it using when it comes to melee mayhem.
Black Dragon
I used a Black dragon in the fourth position. I wanted to increase the life of my all fellow monsters I wanted to decrease the speed of all the opponent's monsters. In addition, I love its life leech ability. Each time monster with this ability damages the life of the target it increases the life of that monster.
Ruler of the Sea
I used Ruler of the Sea
in the fifth position. I used it because of Swiftness
, Silence
and Blast
abilities. All three abilities are Op. It increased speed of the fellow monsters and in addition, it was damaging the opponents 2nd placed monster due to blast ability.
Serpent of Eld
I used Serpent of Eld
the theme of the week in the last position. Yea melee mayhem rule so you can place melee attack at any position but I could have used Hydra instead of Serpent of the Eld but i wanted to win one battle using this monster plus it has poison ability. Poison ability worked in this case. I try to place monster with thorn and retaliate in the last position but here I didn't have much choice except to use. Also, I wanted to use it and experiment with this new card. I feel lucky in this case that my opponent didn't use sneak attack :p
Will I Use Serpent of Eld again?
Yes, obviously I purchased it for a purpose not to sit idle in my collection :P.
Did my strategy work out?
Clearly, I won so 100% it worked.

Girl! I think you musta MADE me choose this one! It was between this and another card... and last minute I knew it had to be the Serpent.
Nice battle! I like seeing the Eld in the back. I tend to only wanna put in the front... but melee mayhem is a perfect ruleset for him.
