Time for the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge.

To spice up weakly battle challenge splinterlands came up with idea of BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge will allows players to showcase their strategic skills through their line up in battle field in variety of battle rulesets.

So theme for this week's BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge is Keep Your Distance. Keep Your Distance ruleset means all kind of melee attack monsters can't be used, so only no attacks, magic and ranged attack monsters are allowed. Moreover dual attack monsters having melee/ranged or melee/magic are also not allowed.

How to Play

Since in Keep Your Distance ruleset means melee attack monsters can't be used so all focus goes towards countering ranged and magic attack monsters. This means excessive use of abilities like Magic Reflect, Return Fire, Silence, Headwinds, Void, Void Armor, Phase, Amplify, Heal, Protect, Shiled Repair, Resurect, Scattershot and Blast.

Suited Summoners

Summoners best suited for this ruleset are CONQUEROR JACEK , YODIN ZAKU, KELYA FRENDUL, ALRIC STORMBRINGER, BORTUS, LIR DEEPSWIMMER, VALNAMOR, OBSIDIAN, PRINCE RENNYN, FERNHEART, IMMORTALIS, CONTESSA L'AMENT, OWSTER ROTWELL, THADDIUS BROOD, MIMOSA KNIGHTSHADE, TYRUS PALADIUM, GENERAL SLOAN, ILTHAIN, THE PEAKRIDER, CHANSEUS THE GREAT, GRANDMASTER RATHE, DELWYN DRAGONSCALE, DRAKE OF ARNAK and QUIX THE DEVIOUS.

MY BATTLE With Keep Your Distance Ruleset

This was a 30 mana battle with three battle rules; Keep Your Distance, What Doesn't Kill You and Back to Basic. Fire, Earth and Dragon splinters were not allowed.

MY LINEUP

OWSTER ROTWELL

I used OWSTER ROTWELL as summoner because I observed enemy's incleanation towards magic attack so I wanted to have all my units Magic Reflect ability.

SHADOWY PRESENCE

Up front I low mana epic SHADOWY PRESENCE just to serve as a meat sheild. Despite lossing all abilities due to Back to Basics SHADOWY PRESENCE is still a nice low mana meat shield.

ALMO CAMBIO

Next I used ALMO CAMBIO as another meat shield. ALMO CAMBIO's heavy health comes at an affordable mana cost along with all the awesome countering abilities and speed.

PHANTOM SOLDIER

Next, I placed PHANTOM SOLDIER as my main magic attack monster. This guy have decent magic attack along with decent abilities. Also abilities make it more awesome.

MAGI OF CHAOS

Next I placed another magic attack monster, MAGI OF CHAOS. MAGI OF CHAOS is indeed a low mana high magic attack option.

XENITH ARCHER

On the second last position, I used ranged attack monster XENITH ARCHER. I switched to ranged attack monsters as a back up jist in case enemy counters my magic attack monsters.

SOUL STRANGLER

On the last position, I placed another ranged attack monster SOUL STRANGLER. SOUL STRANGLER is indeed a real low mana ranged attack champion, 4 ranged attack with just 3 mana.

BATTLE ANALYSIS

The battle went as planned. Enemy went with all in magic attack so was easy to counter with my Magic Reflect summoner. Overall it was an easy win.
