How to Use your Ecency Points - Gift, Promote & Boost

When I tell you that Ecency is the best app for a new Hive user to startup with, I'm not mincing words. It's an amazing place to be and especially on Hive where new users can get lost easily.

Staying and building engagement on the Ecency app affords a user to earn Ecency Points which are not just monument points but actually carry value for the user, the community and the Hive blockchain at Large.

While many out there may not be schooled on the ways to utilize their Ecency Points, this post aims at guiding new users to utilize their points to their advantage.

1. Promote your Posts and other Users' Posts

With Ecency Points, you can promote your posts. Promoting posts makes your post visible on the #trending page giving more visibility and that may lead to increased engagement and maybe supports in terms of upvotes.

The points can also be used to create visibility to other users' posts. That is, some undervalued posts that are helpful to others could be exposed to curators.

The number of days the posts would remain on the trending page depends on the amount of points burnt.

Note that only posts created via Ecency app can be promoted with Ecency Points.

2. Gift to Other Users

Ecency Points can be utilized as a crypto gifts to our friends and other users on the Hive blockchain. Days ago, I received 50 Ecency Points from @liotes.

The points can be gifted as rewards for contests and a way to reward posts that are past the 7 days payout window.

Gifting Ecency Points is as simple as a,b,c and it takes less than a minute to do so.

Simply hit the "gift icon" 🎁 under a post or the "gift" tab in the points Wallets to send the points to another user.

Insert the username, amount of points to gift and the purpose in the memo form and click "next" to authenticate the transaction.

3. Boost Posts and earn Upvotes

Boosting with Ecency Points is to burn some Ecency Points and then earning upvotes from @ecency account and it's trail.

You can boost your posts or another user's posts created via Ecency app not older than 3 days. The posts would be queued for upvotes. The points may be returned if the posts do not meet the quality threshold or older than 3 days when the turn for the curation reaches.

Ecency Points is more than just a reward for using and staying on the app, it can be utilized and even converted to cAsh via upvotes.
