What You Seek Is Seeking You.

It amuses me how fast I evolved from the kid who hated and was totally afraid of the dark and everything supernatural to the girl who finds solace in dark corners and who doesn't outrightly believe in supernatural things.

It's no doubt that the universe has so many hidden agenda and numerous unanswered questions but like I like to say, some things are best left the way they are. I'm a strong believer in the saying that "what you do not seek doesn't seek you". This way, you stay in your lane and the things that do not concern you are left out of your radder. You do not expect to go looking for trouble and not find it.

I haven't had a personal confrontation with supernatural forces but I've heard a lot of stories about it from several people, including my mom. However, the closest I got to witnessing something supernatural was during my first year in highschool.

I was sent to the boarding house and with each passing day I missed everything about home. Anyone who has been to the boarding house in their first year would know what I mean. It was my first time away from my mom and from everything I loved. Need I tell you how sad I always was.

The icing on the cake was when I met an alumni during one of my holidays and he kept going on and on about how the monuments in the school used to walk at night. How the school was a cemetery before it was converted to a full christian institution. He gave me a comprehensive list of all the scary things that used to happen during his stay in school. To be honest, these revelations sent chills down my spine and I do not think I ever slept normally there.

On one of those nights after we had returned from our compulsory night reading session, all the girls in my room walked in and every single person turned in early. On a normal night, we would make noise for hours on end until we were probably punished or forced to sleep by senior students. That night, it felt like a spell had been cast on all of us and we all went to bed, including the senior students in our room. We all fell into a deep sleep.

Before sleeping, most of us had this practice of fetching our buckets of water in preparation for the next morning; so that we do not have to stand in a queue waiting for water in the morning. That night, we all fetched our buckets of water as usual and placed the buckets under our bunks.

By 4:45am, the scream of one of our roommates woke me,and some other people, up.

"What's the issue? Why are you yelling so loud early in the morning?" The senior student in charge of us asked. She was really infuriated.

"Blood…blood!" My roommate responded, pointing towards the corner of our room.

We all looked in the direction and lo and behold we saw a trail of blood. We walked towards the corner and saw piles of buckets by the corner. Blood was filled in each bucket.

It felt like someone carried all our buckets and filled them with blood, including mine. Everyone in the room started panicking. We all curled up together as the senior student went out to beckon on our boarding mistress.

Our boarding mistress, who didn't believe in such an occurrence , blamed it on us. She said that someone in the room probably did it with colours just to scare us.
Now, we were left with the question of "who must have done it"

Who would fill up our buckets with blood? And why? Where did the blood come from? Because to the best of our knowledge, none of us was hurt or injured in any way.

Sleeping in that room became really hard. We hosted a series of prayers and fastings every single time till we all moved to the next class and another room.

Till date, the mystery behind that occurrence hasn't been discovered and honestly, I couldn't care less. My happiness was the fact that none of us was hurt in any way. Since there was no message on the wall or attack on any one of us, then I was fine.

Living through such a phase hardened me and also reformed my perspective. I started viewing life from a different pedestal and that was when I made peace with the aforementioned quote. Afterall, it is written "seek and you shall find".

So, it is safe to say that I haven't outrightly come in contact with an invisible phenomenon and as a matter of fact, I do not wish to. Hehe.

Love, Wongi ✨

Oh that's really creepy. But yeah as long as it doesn't hurt us and as long as we don't see "them" 😅. Let's just stick to the most rational explanation of things 😄. I also had similar experiences before that creeps the hell out of me but I just brush it off after and move on.

Lols I can only imagine how you guys felt that night In the hostel.

I'll be terrified and afraid of where the blood came from, but like the hostel mistress said, it could be one of your playing prank on y'all.

This was a really serious prank and any kid who came up with it(if any) must have been really troubled.

I laughed at the part when you stated boarding houses. I blatantly refused attending one cause of numerous stories my neighbours kid told us each holiday he came back home.

The blood in the bucket thing could actually be a trick or a prank or better still witches pee😂😂😂
