For reasons best known to the universe, I've heard a lot of sad and heartbreaking stories in the past week; heartbreaking mostly for the people involved and so, my post for today is going to be a little tribute to the broken-hearted. The songs wouldn't necessarily heal the wounds but I feel it would give some insight and help the person feel hopeful again.

I always look forward to Tuesdays. Tuesdays are the only days I feel comfortable sharing tunes with fellow music lovers and at the same time updating my playlist with songs from fellow music lovers. This is courtesy of @ablaze who introduced the #threetunetuesday initiative.

For today, I'd be sharing songs from three different years and I would be ending with the oldest of them all. Is it just me or songs produced in the 20th century always had so many heartfelt emotions attached to them? Not just the blues. A person could listen to jazz from the 20th century and still get emotional. Maybe I'm just the one with lots of emotions to spare, hehe.

Unfaithful–Rihanna(2006)

Source

This is a song that tells a tale of a broken relationship where the girl is cheating and she knows that her partner knows. Hilarious. It happens tho. Heartbreak from a female. I would like to blame it on human nature but I won't, because I've seen a couple of people who were or have been faithful.

The phone used in this music video is evidence that times have changed. Did you see the phone

Growing up, I liked to listen to Rihanna and my favourite song of hers is "man down"–one song I can sing word for word from beginning to the end. One of my superpowers :)

It wasn't me –Shaggy(2001)

Source

This was one song that I always vibed to when I was younger, especially because of the reggae involved . The only thing I could hear from the song was "it wasn't me" and guess what, I saw the lyrics for the first time today. Flabbergasted? Very much so.

I like the animated version a lot more. It gives a hilarious touch to the tragic predicament. In this case, the lady is the heartbroken one and the guy is bent on denying every single alligation even when he was caught red handed. I wonder how that works.

I'd Rather Go Blind–Etta James(1968)

Source

I had a chit chat with a friend recently and she mentioned something about "women's instinct being true 90% of the time." Well, people get accused falsely 10% of the time. I saw truth in her statement and this song happened to back my thoughts up.

Etta James affirms in this song that she would rather go blind than watch her partner scurry off with another damsel. Going blind is a little bit extreme but the pain of watching your partner leave can be excruciating. And on the women's instinct It happens like clockwork. The ladies would always sense that something is amiss even though some of them choose not to make a fuss about it; doesn't mean they do not know. Does it work the same way for the male parties?

This was my favourite of the trio. Which was your favourite?

I'd like to end with this quote by Aristotle "Happiness depends upon ourselves."

None of the videos used belong to me. They are all properties of YouTube.

With love, wongi ✨

The entirety of this post is giving me TikTok-stalking-your-phone-to-show-you-specific-things-on-your-FYP vibe. Wow

Can't say I related to the second one much. I'm not really big on reggae (and I didn't you were either until now). Lol

For some reason, the third song refuses to play. Says the video is not available. I followed the source to youtube and it still said the same thing. So eventually, I had to search it up. For anyone else that can't play that one, here's a lyric video of it:)

Some good stuff here. Do let me know when you make another one of these.🙂

I'm not so into reggae as I still do not understand what they say. It's just the reggae beats that makes a person jump with each leg simultaneously that I like, hehe.

For anyone else that can't play that one, here's a lyric video of it:)

Thank you so much for this😊.

Do let me know when you make another one of these

Will do. I hope you like the next selections better.✨

Sounds like a less than positive week! I hope things get better. If nothing else it did help you share some good music.

Etta James really sings it how she feels it, doesn't she? Fantastic voice.

Give it up for Shaggy😂😂 mehn. I love the music video and I can't just help being remembered of some certain parts in the video. Got caught and he still said, wasn't me. Haha, his friend too backed him up nicely.

Unfaithful just has the music lyrics spoke is something else. I love Rihanna's music and I can't stop the lyrics from filling my head. Hehe.

I do agree, going blind may seem excruciating but seeing your partner with someone else is a world breaker. It a big scar in and out and take longer time to fix. I love the realest thing about the movie.

I waltzed in from #dreemport for I am a #dreemer. An awesomely made #dreemerforlife. Don't lose your smile and #dreemon!

Nice tunes 🎵🎶 you got there.
Imagine denying an act in which you were got red-handed. The least he would have done was to plead for her forgiveness. But then........ some people are like that 😏 .

This post is officially a tribute to me as well.

I had a chit chat with a friend recently and she mentioned something about "women's instinct being true 90% of the time."

This saying is true, sis.
Looking back at things that have happened, I can remember my gut warning me about them, but I just ignored them, thinking I was been too much, only to realize later that my gut was right. I feel terrible each time I think about it.

It's true, if we try to find happiness elsewhere aside from ourselves and God, we will only end up being disappointed over and over again.

Relationship all depends on us to either live happily or we walk out of it sadly. I think the rule I live with is I expect heartbreaks from every human. "It Just Me In The World" hehe
