TTT|| Indigo Girls.

Hello Hello

Learning about new things from music lyrics is kind of my thing, hence my unwavering love for good and meaningful music. I've heard a whole lot of distasteful songs that could easily make me abstain from listening to music but then I remember that there are artists out there; whether underrated or overrated, that always do justice to songs. Indigo girls are a clear example of such artists.

For over a month now, I've wanted to share the tunes I'll be sharing today. There has been an itch to share these tunes because the tunes are simply pristine. Different from what regular artists put out and this is because of the intellectual depth that the lyrics hold.

It is yet another Tuesday and that of course means it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday, an initiative brought to us by @ablaze. With that it's time to share some special tunes with you. The tunes I'd be sharing today are unique renditions from a folk rock duo– the indigo girls. The indigo girls is a music paar made up of Amy Ray and Emily Sailers, two very exceptional artists if I may add.

Without further ado, let's get right into the songs for today.

Galileo–Indigo Girls

This song by the indigo girls focuses on reincarnation amongst other themes. The four minutes long epic rock was released in 1992 and this a sheer masterpiece is part of the “right of passage” album by the ladies.

This particular song made me rethink very many occurrences around me and not just rethink these occurrences but be more conscious and aware of them.

“Can a human ever reach the highest light?” is one line of the song that remains on my mind as it's a very valid question. If a human ever reaches this highest light, how would they even know?

Galileo is a thought provoking song with philosophical, astronomical, scientific and intellectual depth as a whole. The song is sure to make one question certain things in life if listened to keenly.

Closer To Fine–Indigo Girls

Galileo led to questioning but “closer to fine” advises humans to do more of living and less of just getting by. Closer to fine is yet another intriguing Folk piece from indigo girls, released in the year 1989.

On the surface, the song explores the themes of self discovery and living but on proper comprehension, I believe the lyrics mean more. We live in a world where people search for the meaning of life on a daily basis. Questions like “what is our purpose on earth?” pop up. I've come across a scientist who strongly believes that we are all part of a video game played by a supernatural being. Thoughts like these could lead to an up rise of eager humans who seek truth forgetting to do one very important thing–LIVE LIFE.

I like how in depth this song gets with the sprinkle of recommendations to seek knowledge instead of unreachable truth.

Joking–Indigo Girls

This is another piece from the “rites of passage” album and also the first song by indigo girls I came across. This song was released in 1992 and explores the themes of personal growth and relationships.

I particularly have an affinity for how meaningful and thoughtful the lyrics of this song are; not too extreme and not too feeble, just right.

There are many things to admire about the indigo girls, the music style and commendable lyrics topping the list but one other thing I adore about this duo is their energetic performances/renditions, especially during live shows. It just makes them more fascinating.
