The strange case of the rave party attacked by Hamas

A turning point for the Middle East's future organization, and more specifically for the Palestinian struggle, may occur on October 7, 2023.

In reality, the 200 or so civilian casualties that resulted from the Hamas attack on the music festival that was taking place in the Negev desert would be the threshold beyond which any Israeli response would be seen as legitimate in the eyes of Western public opinion. According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Middle East will alter as a result of Israel's reaction to the attack by Hamas.

However, when such heinous acts take place with significant political repercussions, it is important to move beyond the simple emotional chain of condolences and condemnations and instead to go deeper and pose the following questions to ourselves: How, for instance, was all of this possible? By identifying several irregularities in the festival's planning, further questions are raised.

Universo Parallelo, a group that organizes an annual trance music festival on the Itubera beaches of Brazil, planned this event. In addition to the main event, Universo Parallelo plans satellite events all around the world throughout the year. One of these is the one that was arranged on October 7th of last year a few kilometers outside of Gaza.

Thus, we reach the page of the Israeli Eventer website specifically dedicated to the presentation of this festival, where we discover the first anomaly: we will hold one of the biggest, oldest, and most significant gatherings ever in the Jewish State during the approaching Sukkot holiday.

The Universo Parallelo event, one of the biggest and most renowned events in Latin America, therefore made its debut in Israel. An aspect that should have prompted a broad list of security measures in a militaristic state like Israel. There are still more abnormalities.

The choice of the event's location, in the northwest Negev desert, a little distance from the Re'im kibbutz, but most importantly, a short distance from the Gaza Strip, raises the most concerns. Placing a gathering that may be attacked at a location that is easily accessible to Hamas fire was a pretty careless decision. a judgment that, upon learning that it was made on the spur of the moment, appears even more puzzling.

The Universo Paralello event was moved to the Re'im site only two days prior to the start because the original site in the south of the country was no longer feasible, according to the Billboard portal, which reported on its interview with some attack survivors who were also event organizers.

As a result, the event was relocated to the town of Re'im with only two days to spare. A very extraordinary event specifically gathered thousands of people to the region that had already been the target of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip in 2006. But the abnormalities don't stop there. Because the presence of an Israeli Defense Forces base near the town of Re'im is equally dubious as the festival's unexpected change in site. Have you ever considered holding a large event close to a military installation or a NATO base?

Finally, it appears that Israel had received a warning about potential Hamas assaults. This was disclosed by Egyptian intelligence sources, who assert to have informed Tel Aviv beforehand of Hamas' aims and their plans to arrange a significant event. When we combine all of these factors, we can only come to one conclusion: Israeli intelligence must indeed be made up of the most gullible individuals possible to disregard such warnings and permit thousands of people to congregate at one of the most hazardous locations on earth.
