I Miss The Hive Action: Where Is Everyone?
I won't claim to be the ultimate hive lover or the imposter like @winniecorp calls them. She says these are the set of people that always claim they're not on hive for the money but everyone else can tell otherwise 😄 You should check out her post btw, it's funny.
Well, I'm here for the money and all the extras. I clearly came for the money because if it wasn't an incentive, I'd be on a Web 2 platform sharing my thoughts instead. At first it was about the money I was getting immediately, being able to sort my immediate needs, then I learned to take steps to secure my financial life.
I haven't looked back since then and it's more about the future now. It's the reason why I'm still here even when the money doesn't come like before especially in this bear market.

For a short while now, I've noticed the engagement on hive drop and it kind of downs my energy too. People post less these days and the engagement on other posts has dropped. I'm not saying this from what I see on my posts alone, I also see it on other accounts. Or maybe it's just my feed.
It's such a downer that I don't get as much interaction anymore because it's something I always look forward to. I enjoy blogging and having an audience to chat with. Without them, it's boring.
I can't tell you how often I refresh my page and each time I'm surprised that I don't see that precious red dot. What is everyone doing? lol. At a point, I was wondering if some people see me because I don't even see them pop up on my feed anymore. All I see mostly are strange reblogs I'm not interested in.
Sometime ago I did a post on things to do when your hive feed is boring but they're not working for me right now because I click around and still don't find things I'm interested in. It feels like the streets are empty.

Videos don't really get a lot of views except for specific communities you post in. How about your blogs? Notice any difference?

Yeah I hear you on the engagement. It's an interesting phenomenon that I think we can scientifically document at this point LOL. Bear Market Blues sounds like it's got a decent ring to it. Maybe come up with another name for it! :D
I certainly enjoy the engagement and when I'm on the platform and active, it's always good to get out there and get some comments on my posts. Buuuuut being the devils advocate here, how about you go out there and check out some posts and drop some comments? :)

We all came for the money but stayed for the community and fun banter that goes on. I think that's what's really fun and cool about Hive. We have our issues but we also have a lot of fun.

That's a good idea. Yes, I'd like that. I'm a mod in another community and it actually makes me read all of the posts, I find myself enjoying stuff I wouldn't ordinarily click on.

Look I just finished a population that will upload in a few hours this same community, talking about how inflation in my country and the decline of cryptocurrencies has affected me, I came to HIVE interested in earnings, like you that was the first attraction and of course it has helped me a lot, but as you point out, having interesting comments on our publications is an extra gain, it nourishes us and encourages us to continue, it is very good to receive a good vote, but if the publication is not commented one feels that no one read those lines in which one invested time and effort, it is as if the bread lacks salt.
You totally get it! I feel awkward when that happens. I write to get opinions about my thoughts and when I don't get it, I wonder how uninteresting my piece must have been despite the upvotes. I need the validation.
Validation, opposing opinions, adding information, expressing that they have identified with the words that are written, all of this is desired.
Most persons came for the money but not many can stay even when the money is coming in little by little so you should understand.
Once we're off the bear, you will have a lot to read on your feed 😅 shikina! 🤣

Dropping comments is quality engagement too. Some people don't even comment anymore.
